When the Queen arrives to watch the final match, both Wallace and Gromit can be seen in the crowd. Please note that while Wallace is in view of the camera shot, only Gromit's ears are shown. Nick Park hadn't been aware that the animators had done this until post-production.
The two dinosaurs in the opening scene are called Ray and Harry. They are named for Ray Harryhausen.
After the duck grabs Nooth, one of the commentators remarks that he is "caught by the old bill". The Old Bill is British slang for the police.
In the end credits there are cave paintings on the wall of football playing cavemen. Among these paintings several other characters from other Nick Park movies can be seen, including the Were-Rabbit, Grommit and the Beady Eyed Penguin.
The gag where Dug, Goona and Hognob jump out of the window and their fall is broken by a roll of toilet paper was originally intended by Nick Park for inclusion in Wallace & Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005), but he couldn't find a way of fitting it in.
