Sequencing predictable and fast-forward provoking

I don't know what the heck happened to this show. I loved it when it started. The plot structure was tight, and biggest note of all, I didn't fast forward through superfluous scenes because there weren't any. Now there is filler everywhere, and I can absolutely positively nail the sequences with my eyes closed. I don't like being dragged through a bunch of torture and general disarray unless there is going to be a major payoff, and I'm sorry to say thee is not. This show is now playing the wait for the next episode game. I hate that. Hate it. I feel duped as a viewer. I want something for putting up with all the villainous abuse each and every episode. I'm not saying there should be no story arcs that span an entire season. but each episode should deliver crushing blows from the Nathan James in order to satisfy those of us who watched it when kiss ass was the norm. Then again, when budgets get tight, that kind of trade gets expensive.

Blood, give me blooood

Warning: Spoilers
Of course, if you have Dichen Lachman as your stereotypical Asian woman, you will need Hiroyuki Sanada if you want a Japanese man who looks shady and speaks English. Talking about typecasting and a very short list of actors who speak English and have Asian heritage.

Anyway... Chandler is searching for his crew (because, of course, the Nathan James is HIS ship; he will remind that to us at least a hundred times in this episode); the president of USA is in a tight spot; Granderson needs to convince Jesse of joining the team; and Slattery and the other kidnapped ones, meet finally... well, the god of the sea and storms (and some monsters as a side dish, probably).

It is funny how many of the other military (in this case the Japanese, but we have had quite a long list before that in the show) just go rogue, while our good USA heroes all stayed loyal to their country. But letting this aside, that Takehaya (played by Sanada as he always plays his characters in English-speaking shows, as creepy and silence- lovers as possible) just decides to take the soldiers' blood instead of, you know, having a chat, and discovering why the cure isn't working on them (or whatever reason the show will give us in the future) is risible. The Japanese pirates' town is all a little bit silly (even if it is going to offer some cool action in future episodes probably).

On the other story-lines, we get a little bit of action, team- building, and know-your-place speeches, so nothing new. It keeps things chugging along in an interesting way, and the viewer will enjoy the proceedings.

Now... If we could just be a little bit more open-minded and research about other regions of the world...
