Genre specialists Devilworks has bolstered its sales slate with the acquisition of Kai E Bogatzki’s horror-thriller Scars Of Xavier.

The company has taken world rights to the film, which picked up best film and best SFX at the DarkViens Horror Fest in Italy, best thriller at Nightmare Film Festival in the Us, and also won the best feature prize at the NYC Indie Film Awards.
Bogatzki co-wrote and co-produced the film with Marc Engel. The latter also stars as the titular Xavier in the story of a man who by day works at a car wash but by night is a brutal and vicious serial killer who targets young women.

Samantha (Anja Savcic) is a young girl who juggles her life around looking after her mother, her job at a cafe and her Sociology studies at university. It’s a pretty simple existence until her friend Mark (Levi Meaden) introduces her to his friend Marissa (Sarah Troyer) and a smooth talking British chap by the name of Victor (Rory J. Saper), who recently quit university and just like when you stay in a hotel – decided to take home a small memento.

The UK-based genre film sales company has assembled a line-up for Berlin that includes Incontrol and Population Zero.
Kurtis David Harder’s sci-fi Incontrol follows university students who discover a device that allows them to take control of other people. Levi Meaden and Rory J. Saper star.
Population Zero received its international premiere at FrightFest in London and is a doc-thriller about a man who used a legal loophole to walk free after confessing to the murder of three young men in Yellowstone National Park. Julian T. Pinder and Adam Lewis directed.
The sales roster includes The Man Who Was Thursday, Cut Shoot Kill, Peelers and Still Alive.
