- TriviaOn the call where Firehouse 51 went to the residence with the Bounce House & power lines down, Kelly Severide tells the father father "he needs to move back away from the bounce house slowly dragging your feet". Thought this to be odd at first. But, this is actually done for safety as taken a step under the ground juiced with 200 to 300 amps generally is the lines of household voltage in the US, taken a step in this situation would be waiting to get hit by lighting.
- GoofsOtis says Molly's is being shut down for a code violation involving the building being 2 feet too close to the street. This is laughable, since the building clearly predated the ordinance, which was later revealed when they used the historical building exception. No such ordinance could be enforced after the fact. Under the legal doctrine of ex post facto, the ordinance would be retrospective- meaning it would apply to buildings constructed before the date the ordinance was enacted. Ex post facto laws are illegal under the US Constitution's Article 1 Section 10. While this specifically applies to criminal laws, the principle is the same and even if pushed to the limit, a court would not make a property owner relocate an old building of that size 2 feet due to the financial hardship it would place on the owner. In the specific case, the city would not pursue it because of the negative press it would generate against a small business owned by local heroes.

Matthew Casey: [on the phone] Hey. No, no, no. She's good. Antonio's case finished up, so he's with her now. Yeah, sure. No problem. Okay.
[hangs up]
Matthew Casey: You got something from Herrmann.
Christopher Herrmann: Hey, Gabby. I been trying to think of the right thing to tell you to make you feel better, but I know it don't work that way, so here's the thing. When Cindy and I got married, she got pregnant right away, but, uh... we lost the baby. And I just thought, "What'd we do to deserve this?" I was so angry... but me and Cindy, we just held onto each other as tight as we could, and so, here we are, five kids later, and... I got a family I never imagined, including, uh... one more girl that I didn't expect, and she came to me full grown. She's strong and brave and courageous and really special, and I love her like my own, and someday, she's gonna make a great mom. So I guess all I'm trying to say is hang on, Gabby. Your day is coming.
