David Spade and Patrick Warburton together again

Warning: Spoilers
The dynamic between Mike Moore (Patrick Warburton) and his dad (Stacy Keach) is coming along nicely. The writers are doing a very good job of expanding the relationship between these two while keeping a good balance of comedy and drama.

This episode takes a look at something that happened to Mike when he was in the fifth grade. Believe it or not, he was bullied. Apparently he was not always big and imposing. They chose to use David Spade as the childhood bully which is a bit of irony in itself as you see him standing next to Patrick Warburton.

It turns out that Stella (Mia Serafino) was a bit of bully back in high school. She tries to make amends to one guy in particular. I was not as fond of that part of the story line. I think the writers handled that wrong. I hope that they don't continue to develop the Stella character as such a shallow person. She is an adult now and they need to get her character growing up and becoming a more rounded person. Once in a while having her character say something that is shallow might be funny (depending on the circumstances), but a steady diet of it just gets old really quick. They need to find other ways to keep her character funny and watchable.

Other than the poor story line choice with the Stella character, this episode was pretty good. It had some really nice comedic moments in it. I am still really liking the way they are developing the story line with Mike (Patrick Warburton), Martina (Carrie Preston) and Bob (Stacy Keach). They have been doing great at making the perfect balance between comedy and drama with those characters.
