In 1982, Lindy Chamberlain was convicted of murdering her baby daughter. She, however, claimed that a dingo had taken her baby. Wrongfully convicted, she ended up serving three and half years in prison before being exonerated of the crime. Lindy had to fight public opinion, not only in her native Australia, but the US as well, where her case quickly became a punchline, with a movie and a trademark phrase, "A dingo's got my baby" taking hold of the public.
