They can't shoot these bugs in the eyes! Warning: Spoilers
Don't get me wrong I think this is a good episode! But they have a commander from the clone wars 3 rebels who shoot for a living & two Jedi! And I can't shoot the bugs in the eyes! I think u could of fixed that w/ being attacked by way more of the bugs and had them feel more over run! It just annoyed me these ppl shoot all the time and they r 4 feet away from these huge spider crabs & cant hit there huge black eyes!! Lol it's still fun tho!

Attack of the Giant Spiders

This is basically a fun monster movie episode. The Rebels new base is under threat from giant spider-like monsters and they need to defend themselves as well as secure the base.

The episode is mostly a filler but it does have themes of the ongoing story - Ezra's journey in using the force, the crew facing separation and the Rebels establishing a base - so it is more than just a filler.

Also it is just great fun. Creepy monsters and danger make it suitably entertaining.

My rating: 8/10.

CHOPPA Base

This was actually pretty decent. It's not entirely filler, seeing as it's building up to what is sure to be a great finale. The relationship between Kanan and Hera is one I've always wanted to see more of, and I still do after this episode. The tension between them was actually pretty sad.

By the way, why are here so many different species of spiders in Star Wars?

Filler before the finale
Fluke_Skywalker23 October 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Plot; Settling into their first permanent base, the Rebels find they're not alone in their new home.

More filler before the finale, but at least here they make better use of it by hinting at some underlying tension between Kanan and Ezra, and subtly hinting at some potential danger with the latter re: the Dark Side.

The basic plot (fighting off Ralph McQuarrie inspired arachnoids) is pretty generic, but there are some fun bits, and the focus, however slight, on the relationship between Kanan and Hera is nice and long overdue.

The Mystery of Chopper Base

So while this episode was definitely better than the previous one, I still don't understand what all of this is leading to. I get that this has something to do with their base in the future, but what does it have to add to this particular storyline. There was no specific need to have an entire episode set on this planet, even though I understand that it is important to keep it safe. And that is why I won't go off on this episode, because I actually did find it enjoyable. It had nice action sequences, and it also had the crew realizing that they aren't going to be a crew anymore, which is something that I don't think will hold past the final episode of the season, as it would be too weird if they just threw away all other characters, except for Kanan and Ezra. I don't fully get this episode, but I do admire the things that they did in it and I understood that the entire idea of the episode was to make the characters used to not working together. I still think that this season has been playing it dangerously close in regards to its storylines, and I do hope that the finale brings it home with a bombastic episode, which I think it will.
