Acceptable fan film
Snootz14 January 2018
For what this is it's acceptable. Decent acting but minimal storyline-- the fault of so many shorts. Further... this has been done before. Repeatedly.

The major flaw in this is that the sound track is so loud it almost drowns out all speech; it's difficult to tell what the characters are saying. Very poor sound editing.

Beyond that it's basically just another fight and another budding potential Jedi and we've seen this before. The summary here on IMDB tells the entire "plot" of the short... because there isn't really any plot. I give this 5 stars for good effects and acting.

We do find that Storm Troopers still can't hit the side of a Bantha from ten paces, even with automatic weaponry. At least that holds true to canon.

An unconventional Fan Film
EmperorNG10 February 2020
The fan film had a lot of improvement required in terms of graphics and conceptual ideality of a stormtroopers point of view , however the makers made a film that was sound budget wise. The plot was spectacular no faults there ! And compared to other fan films was suprisingly better in terms of plot and the overall atmosphere and environment

I see the potential, but the execution is shoddy Warning: Spoilers
This is "Kara" and if you read the long title you will know exactly what this is about, namely one of many many Star Wars fan films. Writer and director if these 7.5 minutes is Joe Sill and it is an American movie in the English language. Sill is an actually pretty prolific filmmaker if you take a look at his body of work in the last 5-10 years and this one here is still relatively new and fresh, namely from 2016 when the Star Wars popularity was reaching new heights again with the new movies. "Kara" is certainly one of Sill's most known. I think the actors are good and direction as well as settings and camera work are decent too. But the script is a major problem. The dialogues don't feel authentic contents-wise and the scenes feel very random in terms of how they were put together. Quite a shame as I believe there are some solid components here, but I guess you really have to love Star Wars to be able to ignore the flaws. Or, even worse, you will really hate them then. Perhaps it would be a good idea for Sill if he lets the screenplay be done by others next time. I give this one a thumbs-down. Not recommended.
