Neither the USS Hayward or the USS Shackleton put out any defensive fire when attacked by missiles. Even under surprise, they should have been able to defend themselves.
The episode makes use of a 3-word GPS system (what3words). The three word reference they decode from a radio transmission supposedly points to a location in the Formosa Strait, but in reality the combination quoted (BARN TABLE YARD) is a location in Tazewell, Tennessee. (The GPS co-ordinates written on the piece of paper are however correct for the Formosa Strait).
Kara is told that the transmission difficulties are due to a foreign signal on the channel, and that the signal is encrypted. She proceeds to visually identify the signal as "voice". However, an encrypted data stream is by its very nature, unable to be identified and would only display or sound like static noise due to the encryption.
When Sasha Cooper asked a woman what she was doing, part of her reply was "sa susunod na linggo" which means "next week" but the subtitle reads "last week".
The map in the White House briefing room shows a "Formosa Straight." The correct spelling for the geographical feature is "strait."
