Main event was supposed to be The Undertaker's final match. After the match The Undertaker took off his gloves, coat and hat and placed it in the middle of the ring to mark his retirement. After he raised his right hand and was lowered under the ramp the gong struck three times to mark the end of his 27 year career in the WWE. However he wasn't satisfied with his performance in the match and returned to the ring in next WrestleMania. He officially ended his career in Survivor Series 2020.
When Rob Gronkowski climbed over the railing during the pre-show battle royal, Rob was quickly grabbed by a female security guard, unaware that this was part of the show. A group of WWE referees came to the aid of Gronk, telling the security guard to let him go. She was seen laughing at ringside shortly afterwards, embarrassed by her mistake.
Largest entrance ramp ever constructed at 80 yards (240ft).
Goldberg's loss to Brock Lesnar was the first and only time in his career that Bill Goldberg cleanly lost a match.
After four years away from WWE, Jim Ross made his return to the company here, as guest commentator for the main event. The Undertaker had specifically requested that J.R. be there to commentate on his final match. Vince McMahon gave Ross no notes beforehand, allowing him the freedom to call the action as he saw fit. This was only 2 weeks after Jim's wife Jan was killed in a road accident. Ross felt he needed to fulfill his WrestleMania commitments, as that was what Jan would have wanted him to do. J.R. also agreed that being around his "extended family" of wrestling colleagues and fans was just what he needed to help him through a difficult time.
