- The biggest part of the game is killing zombies using various plants that shoot projectiles or cause explosions.
- Players can use Power-Ups that let you freeze/burn the zombies or electrocute them with lightning. Their bones are visible when you zap them and their body turns to ash
- Like in every other Plants vs. Zombies game, the violence is played for comedy.

- A plant called the tangle kelp from big wave beach would suck zombies that are in the water. Another plant in modern day, the grimrose sucks a zombies in the dirt

- The MC Zom B zombie destroys a plant by spinning a microphone at nearby plants
- There's a zombie in Lost City involving a bug that flies a zombie, once the bug is destroyed, green oozy sticky liquid splats and the zombie is released
- The shovel zombie in lost city would dig a plant and toss it behind it and once the plant gets nearer to the zombie side, it just digs it to its side.

- The zombies may frighten younger players.
- When we lose, we can hear loud 'no' sound and also saw already bitten brain which kinda frightening.
- The Dr. Zomboss levels can be pretty intense.
- Some times levels are very hard and irritating where you have to collect all the sun then use the powerups which is a waste of coins.

- In dark ages, there 2 levels which contains many evil potion which buff the zombies toughness and speed.
