John Carpenter: Distant Dream (2016)

Yes, this here is basically a music video of Carpenter in the studio with his band who he would tour with in 2016. However, it's worth noting that it's the first thing he's directed since 2010 so that reason enough to celebrate. Thankfully the result was something worthwhile as the song itself is classic Carpenter and he also makes for some good visuals. The song itself is quite catchy as it has those drastic beats that some of the director's best music scores have. Visually the video is a lot of fun because it puts the focus on the instruments being played but the director also stands with confidence as he has no problem showing himself at work as he orchestrates everything. If you're a fan of the legendary director then you'll certainly enjoy this.
