Producer of 'Sing Street' Martina Niland gave advice to Writer/Director Eimear Callaghan on the script.
'Groundless' director Eimear Callaghan really wanted to use a famous song in the film. When the production applied for permission, the musician loved the film so much that he gave the license for the use of the song for free.
Director Eimear Callaghan turned down various offers in both America and Ireland from distribution companies and online platforms for the film's release after its successful festival run. Eimear turned these offers down as she wanted everyone to see Groundless and not just those who paid for it. She felt the message in Groundless was too important not to share with everyone so released the film online for everyone to see on November 13, 2017.
When 'Groundless' director Eimear Callaghan received her award at the 'Galway Film Fleadh' she beat out an Oscar nominee for the award.
