Sex & Nudity

  • Scenes with sexual undertones are very few and far between in this show. However, there is a brother and sister pair who seem to be in an incestuous relationship. The girl frequently makes sexual remarks about their relationship, flirts with her brother, and clings on to him. At the start of episode 3, she sticks her hand up his shirt and winds up crouching over him, giggling, as he seems to protest (all in front of other people in a restaurant). For a few seconds, there is a shot of the restaurant that appears to show her head positioned over his crotch area as he flails around. This is all played for laughs. Another scene in a later season has her grab him while they're sitting in their living room at home; the camera cuts away to show the outside of the house as he screams in protest, then gives a short moan and a heart appears on screen, seeming to suggest she did something sexual to him and he enjoyed it. However, the moan and heart also happened to him and other characters in other scenes that turned out to be nonsexual, so it is unclear what exactly occurred.
  • A doctor with the supernatural ability to heal those who are on the verge of death strips down to her bra and underwear to treat a male patient (who is tied down to an operating table and unable to move). She makes some flirtatious remarks before whipping out a chainsaw and attacking the patient (offscreen) to make him on the verge of death, otherwise her ability won't work. We hear him scream, then he makes a short moan-like sound and a heart speech bubble appears on screen. The scene is played for humor and seems to suggest that whatever happened was sexual in nature; however, we find out it was anything but sexual later on. Other characters react the exact same way in another scene.
  • An adult man has a dubious relationship with a young girl, about ten years old in appearance. (It is eventually revealed that she is an ageless supernatural entity that looks and behaves like a child.) There is a scene where he is suggesting outfits for her to wear. During this scene, her naked torso is shown but her hair covers her chest. The man is described as having a "Lolita complex", strongly indicating his interest in the girl is sexual in nature.
  • A woman is found unconscious in her bra and underwear. A man comments that she looks sexy.
  • A ranges from comical to overtly sexual of some innuendo that's more comical than sexy, and other moments that are more suggestive.
  • In e. P. 1 (S. 1.) Dazai tells Atsushi (who was fainted) that if Atsushi is flirting with him, he's not interested.
  • In e. P. 3 Naomi strokes her brother's body until she reaches his penis & kept squeezing it. (EXPLICIT) She always does these dirty things with him.
  • In e. P. 7 Kunakida is seen shaking his butt (clothed).

Violence & Gore

  • Multiple people are shot onscreen, a man shoots his girlfriend by accident, a mafia member brutally slashes and murders multiple people with a supernatural weapon ability, a slaughter is heard offscreen, a teenage boy's leg is ripped off, but regenerates, a young girl is shot on-screen multiple times, but survives, multiple adults are shot onscreen, and much else. Lots of blood shown.
  • Minor acts of violence for comical effect. A man frequently asks girls to commit suicide with him and is in turn punched or slapped by another man. It's also implied the other man beats him up offscreen.
  • A boy collapses and is crying. A man then slaps him across the face. There are also flashbacks in which the boy is slapped by a man during his childhood.
  • A character throws a bunch of mobsters out of a window. The mobsters have funny faces while falling out so this scene is played for laughs.
  • The whole is pretty violent but not as much as something like Attack On Titan.
  • Two of the main characters are shown in a flashback episode to when they were 15-year-old boys, both members of the mafia. They have a battle with an enemy group of adults and kill them all except one man. The man is lying on the ground, dying of his injuries. One boy asks him if he wants to be killed as an act of mercy. The man agrees and the boy shoots him, but seems to have a bit of a psychotic break and continues to shoot him multiple times after he's already dead. While laughing with a deranged expression, the boy says it's more than the man deserves. The boy is also shown to be suicidal himself and longing for death, making the implications of this scene more mature and disturbing.
  • A character has a particularly violent ability to kill his enemies brutally but as this is animated the violence can be handled, but the scenes in which he kills are particularly gruesome.
  • It features lot of fantasy violence like aggressive behavior, hitting, fight/battling scenes by using with special powers, yelling, and automatic weapons. Some limited blood and injuries shown.

Profanity

  • Some uses of "shit", "son of a bitch", "ass", "damn" and "hell".
  • The F word is used once at the end of ep. 7 in season 4 in the English dub
  • There's some occasional profanities including "damn", "hell", "bastard", "shit", "ass", "son of a bitch", and other words are audible in the English dub.
  • 3 uses of the f-word.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Some characters smoke, and characters that are of-age drink.
  • A man eats weird mushrooms that make him act funny and weird.
  • A character under the Japanese legal drinking age is shown drinking alcohol. This character is not a minor.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • A few dead bodies are shown, but nothing that would be disturbing to a teen.
  • One of the main characters (who is depicted as suave and "cool" and is extremely popular with young female fans of this show) constantly attempts suicide but fails. He also constantly asks women to commit a double suicide with him as a romantic gesture. This is a constant running gag throughout, done for comical effect, not gory or violent. The other characters treat it like a commonplace event and don't react with realistic concern at all - they just get annoyed with the man. This can be influential for impressionable youth. In real life, two teenage girls in Poland committed double suicide together after watching this show. Many young fans online talk about how romantic and beautiful suicide is. This is something to keep in mind for any viewer.
  • The main character grabs a bomb and puts it in a protected position. The bomb doesn't go off as it turns out it's fake. Frightening nonetheless but the characters position after he finds out will probably make you laugh.
  • Some characters make grotesque facial expressions. This could be slightly disturbing to younger viewers.
  • A boy's screams after having his leg cut off are very realistic. This may be intense for some viewers.
  • A young boy named Q who possesses mind control powers is seen with a doll that has blood streaming from it's eyes. The doll's head must be ripped off before it can use the boy's powers, when it does, the MC believes his friends are trying to kill him under mind control, but he then realizes that he was the one under control and is trying to kill them.
  • Suicide is a theme, as a character is obsessed with suicide, but the topic is often (but not always) dealt with using humor.
