Sex & Nudity

  • Lots of strong dialogue
  • Frequent and Lots of Graphic/Explicit scenes.
  • Sexual violence in this series is pretty graphic and disturbing
  • Lots of sexual jokes are made throughout seasons 1-3
  • Lots and Lots of scenes where it shows men showering. A whole bunch of buttocks are seen. Penises are shown in several episodes where male prisoners are locked up nude, including long graphic scenes of male genital nudity, especially in Season 4, episode 1.
  • Explicit male genital nudity in several occasions. Full male graphic nudity. Female nudity is extremely mild and very limited. Almost no female nudity except a flash of breasts, but incomparable to the degree of male nudity.

Violence & Gore

  • Violence is infrequent but sometimes brutal and graphic.
  • Some gun fighting and some chasing scenes that involve some guns/weapons.
  • There are 2 dead Bodies with blood that are seen where pastor peña wakes up in. Pretty graphic. However, no gore is seen.
  • Season 2 is more violent than season 1
  • Season 2 has the most graphic violence out of all season in "El Marginal"
  • A man is shot 4 times
  • Another man gets shot
  • A man gets punched hard in the nose. Pastor then puts a knife in his mouth. Blood is visable

Profanity

  • Lots of racial slurs and C words inside this show.
  • Every episode has at least more than 40-70 swear words. (Deleted. Personal opinions about ratings are not appropriate for the Parents Guide.)
  • Almost every sentence the characters say have 1-10 swear words in them. at least more than 70 swear words per episode.
  • Lots and Lots of extremely foul and harsh language, such as: C**cha de tu m*dre (The c-word or "motherfucker"), Hijo de mil p**a ("Son of a bitch"), C*rajo (The F word), Chupap*ja ("Cocksucker"), Pelotudo (idiot), Huevos/Pelotas (B*lls), Mi**rda ("Shit"), P*ja ("Dick"), Mar*ca/Mar*con ("Fag") And lots more than is extremely profane. This might also be one of Netflix's most profane TV series.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • A lot of uses of substances, Alcohol, Smoking and any other tobacco inside this series.
  • Lots of substances, drinking and smoking are visible throughout the series.
  • Diosito is a drug addict and takes cocaine in a lot of episodes

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The gun fighting might scare some viewers due to the gunshots of the weapons
  • The ending of season 1 can be shocking
  • Violence can be disturbing and/or graphic
  • This series has graphic violence. The series also is pretty dark.
  • This series has lots of violent, dark, gross and distirbing-to-watch scenes.
  • Lots of emotional scenes are in El marginal that could make the viewers feel bad or just emotional.

Sex & Nudity

  • There is sexual violence involving Cesar getting raped by a man while other men grab him. Could be pretty unsettling and disturbing.
  • Season 2 has a very explicit sex scene with Diosito and Mecha. Lots of thrusting, moaning and breasts are seen.
  • Moco (Christian) has sex with a woman. Breasts are visible, as well as Thrusting and lots of moaning. This is very explicit
  • Sexual violence: An underaged woman (Oaty's little sister)'s breasts are seen. She is also getting raped. Emma is also getting raped and is also being sexually harassed. this is EXTREMELY disturbing and VERY disturbing. Pantera stops the rapists, however.
  • There is a scene where Toad gets head from his wife (offscreen though).
  • There is one sex scene that is only a bit brief but is still shown. at the left side of the screen. Not exactly that explicit but boobs are seen.
  • Diosito almost has sex with a young woman. Her breasts are seen but they don't perform sex yet (season 2)
  • There is a gay sex scene in Season 2 Where Fiorella gives head to Morcilla. Kinda graphic but no nudity or genitals are shown.
  • Diosito masturbates offscreen while Christian and a woman have oral sex (He even tells him and the woman that he masturbated after they finished their sex)
  • Right before the guards show up right around the corner to beat up pastor peña up, A man and pastor are showering and are naked (we only see buttocks). However, the man's penis is seen, but it is brief and is kind of hard too see his penis, it is also shown 2 times on camera when before and after Peña is getting beat up (Peña's penis isn't seen, however).
  • A woman and a man have oral sex. Some thrusting and a bit of moaning. The man, However, gets a heart attack after he gets excited and how his heart rate increases
  • Pantera is often shirtless for every episode (except for the part of Toad's Daughter's birthday). This is not SEXUAL in any way.

Violence & Gore

  • Morcilla gets hit with a wrench on the head at least 20-30 times
  • Pedro gets his throat slit, then being put on fire
  • A man in the courtyard gets suffocated in a bag and gets hit with a bat in the face 12-14
  • A man gets electrocuted and stabbed in a bathtub
  • Mario finds a finger in his soup in an episode in season 1 and then bites it.
  • A police officer gets stabbed a couple of times
  • Pantera and Fiorela beat, punch and kick a man while dragging him. he then appears to be knocked out and then is fed by birds. you can see the birds have opened a lot of wounds on his face, arms and legs. This is EXTREMELY graphic and can disturb the audience viewing this episode.
  • (S2 E8) A man gets hanged by 2 of Toad's guards
  • (S3 E8) A man gets shot more than 2 times by a woman
  • (S2 E4) A man punches and pushes another man off a building (blood splatter offscreen)
  • a man gets shot with a silent pistol
  • (S1 E4) A man hangs himself due to the depression he has
  • A guard kills another guard
  • (S2 E8) Sapo shoots a man through the mouth
  • (S2 E8) El sapo shoots his wife a couple of times
  • (S1 E13) Diosito is shot and then is chocked to death
  • Pantera kills a man and punches him in the face 15+ times
  • (S3 E8) Pantera gets stabbed 3-4 times and dies while fighting diosito
  • (S2 E1) A man gets hanged upside down, then his stomach hit a couple of times. Blood is visible coming from his mouth
  • A man shoots 3 woman with a gun, causing a triple homicide
  • a man puts acid or chemical(?) on Mario's eye
  • A man gets buried alive, but is saved and digged out
  • A man gets his throat slit by a woman
  • A man gets stabbed. The other man gets beat up with a stick by Emma
  • A man gets stabbed 2 times by Moco
  • A woman gets shot
  • A man gets shot 1-2 times
  • 4-5 teenagers (probably aged 19-23) get into a car crash. All but one are alive
  • A woman gets shot. She has shot Pastor, however (Pastor although, is alive)
  • Pantera smashes a man's head to the wall, then leaves his body on the floor. A pool of blood is visable.
  • The Borges Brothers go to a room and beat up at least 4-5 people. Then they set the room in fire. The punching sounds are pretty graphic.
  • (S2 E5) Emma gets a piece of glass on her leg. Some blood is visible.
  • (S2 E6) A woman smashes a vase onto her corrupt/horrible husband's head. Then she shoots her husband. Some blood is visible
  • (S2 E8) Diosito hits a man in a head with a pipe (he is knocked out). Then he punches another man 4 times. Patricio and Diosito then push the man off the building. Blood splatter is seen.
  • (S2 E8) A man gets stabbed in the gut by pantera. When pantera takes out the knife, The blood is briefly seen, but the sound effect is graphic.
  • (S2 E8) Lots of dead bodies are seen with blood on the walls, on the bodies and on the floor.
  • A man gets a heart attack during oral sex (also is in "Sex & nudity" category".

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Diosito gives Pastor peña a drug inside beer and peña ends up getting messed up after it.
  • Emma suffers from remembering the sexual violence from S2 E8. because of this, she takes drugs and goes deeper to the addiction of drugs

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • S2 E5 and S2 E6 has a scene where Patricio appears to be the innocent one and the woman the guilty one. This is shocking as the audience did not know that Pedro has been innocent this whole time after she has confessed that she killed her husband (if this makes sense).
  • Ending of season 2 is surprising and very emotional.
