As we digress

Warning: Spoilers
A show set in 1843 that displays a secretive botched abortion only seems to comment on the state of affairs we are in now. Today, as the government increases its control on women's rights are we to be concerned that people will again start dying from secret abortions done in basements by a threatening doctor. This episode is splendidly horrifying depicting how powerful men have all the control no matter what the circumstances. Mary Whitney terrified of losing her job took drastic measures that caused her to lose her life. Have we stopped progression and turned back time?

Episode Two - Part Two

What a heavy episode. I started thinking that Mary was the real killer, but Grace, being her friend, covered it up and left the blame to fall on her.

But seeing this end of the episode, and assuming that what she is saying is true, it could be that Mary possessed Grace's body at the time of the act, it would even answer why she called herself Mary at the time she was arrested.

Because I haven't read the synopsis or seen the trailer, this possession thing caught me off guard, but I'm already thinking it's true.

I don't know who's worse, the guy who promised everything to Mary and then went to buy cigarettes or the owner of that mansion wanting to defend him.

I liked Jeremiah.

Episode two watched on May 13, 2024.

Rating: 9/10.
