It is a bit of an inside joke, but the owner (portrayed by Bob Balaban) is talking a blue streak to Oscar Arguella, the team's general manager (portrayed by Mark Consuelos), when the owner says that Oscar is Spanish (as in from Spain), and Oscar says under his breath "I'm actually Mexican." But, in reality, the opposite is true. Consuelos is portraying a Mexican character, but Consuelos was actually born March 30, 1971 in Zaragoza, Aragón, Spain. making him, by definition, Spanish.
Everyone you see in the stadium crowds, is actually computer generated... well kinda. The special effects crew filmed small groups of people in front of a green screen and then copy filled a bunch of them to populate the seats in the stadium, thereby making the stadium appear to be essentially filled to capacity. So, in effect, you're actually seeing many of the same people, as duplicates, without realizing it, since they appear as a giant crowd.
