When we last left of Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) and Mike Ross (Patrick J. Adams), they were back to working together and that brought a lot of hope of the good old day of Suits. The first few three season were gold and season 4-6 were a little up and down. This episode did was a really solid start for the season, but it definitely wasn't without some bad parts.
The relationship between Harvey and Paula (Christina Cole) in this episode felt a little forced but hopefully it will seem more naturally in later episodes. Donna (Sarah Rafferty) wasn't Donna in this episode, it felt unreasonable for her to ask for Senior Partner and it just feels like this is the writers way of replacing Jessica, they want to replace her with Donna. Harvey really has a lot of on his plate in this episode. He and Mike have their case, he has to take control of the firm while Donna is also asking for a seat at the table. He is also trying to make things work with the former therapist Paula.
Donna is to busy wanting her place at the table to really guide Harvey and instead Mike has to step and put Harvey on the right track and make him step up to take over for Jessica. Mike himself has just left the clinic and is struggling with moral dilemmas and former colleagues. Overall a solid start for season 7 and the banter at the end between Mike and Donna was pretty great.
Score: 6/10 (Solid)
