It's hard to argue that Dave Bautista isn't one of the most dynamic performers currently working right now. He has managed to create a varied filmography that plays with his strengths and public persona in interesting ways. Even if someone isn't a particular fan of his acting, it's always cool to see an actor actually have a filmography that proves their range.
"Knock at the Cabin" might be Bautista's biggest range test yet. The new M. Night Shyamalan movie casts him as the quiet and reserved Leonard, who arrives with four other people at a secluded cabin occupied by a vacationing family. There, Leonard and the rest of the intruders demand that one member of the family must be sacrificed by the end of the day in order to prevent the apocalypse. Even though this would be a daunting role for any actor to pick up, it's an especially...

We have some bad news for fans of This Is Us.
The episode scheduled for tonight, (January 19) has been pulled off the schedule by NBC, with the network opting to air an encore of This Is Us Season 4 Episode 14, "The Cabin."
No reason was given for the last-minute switcheroo, but it could be production-related.
This Is Us Season 5 kicked off later than usual, and episodes have aired sporadically as the series continues to produce fresh installments throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.
Still, the network has not revealed why the show is postponed, but there will probably be more small hiatuses as we head into the second half of the season.
More importantly, we don't have a return date, so it's possible this latest break could drag on for multiple weeks.
It's an unfortunate development, especially considering that This Is Us Season 5 Episode 6 was one of the best episodes of the series.

The first thing you will notice about the new Netflix original series The Cabin is that it is hosted by Bert Kreischer the stand-up comedian. The majority of people will know Bert for his famous routine about becoming an honorary member of the Russian mafia and shouting “I am the Machine!” as it was the only phrase Russian phrase he knew.
Now honestly I don’t enjoy his form of comedy but this show gives an alternative perspective on who he is as a person… The Cabin opens with Bert talking about his innermost feelings and how high stress the comedy circuit is which is not something that gets talked about a lot but is very important. It’s great to see – specifically a man – talking about his mental health struggles and dealing with fatigue which is essentially the fundamental premise of the show. Bert is supposed to be taking...

“Prisoners begged for mercy…they got nun.”
In horror cinema, groups of young adults always seem to find themselves entering spooky or abandoned locations… Will they ever learn?
Opening in a palette of creepy-cool midnight blue, Ashley-Kae (Erika Edwards) retells her nighttime childhood entailing her fear of the terrifying Sister Monday (Felissa Rose) hidden under the bed, in her closet, and in her head. In the present day, however, she leads a group consisting of her sister, her sister’s boyfriend, and a classmate. At first, in Ashley being a keen photographer, the group take a stop on their travels (much to the dismay of the sister and her boyfriend), so that Ashley is able to capture a few shots for her thesis, but that isn’t her only desire. Only...

It was a blast from the past for the Pearson family on This Is Us. To celebrate the time capsule discovered in "The Cabin," series star Mandy Moore released her own version going back to where it all started: Her audition to play Rebecca Pearson. "I think I was one of the first people that they read," Moore said in her video posted to Twitter. The video, which you can see below, features Moore's taped audition to play the Pearson family matriarch on This Is Us. "The feedback was, 'They really liked you, but now they're going to go and read a bunch of women in New York and across the country and we'll hopefully hear back in a couple of weeks once they've done,'"...

Very rarely is a time-capsule opening as satisfying as the one that happens in Tuesday’s This Is Us.
You can keep your historic newspapers and cultural touchstones: I’d much rather have a balled-up piece of drawing paper that leads to another clue — small, but significant! — in the show’s ever-evolving flash-forward to what certainly feels like Rebecca’s deathbed.

There are many many horror movies that centre around a cabin in the woods and unsurprisingly, The Cabin is another that can be added to that list. It’s not a very inventive title but neither was The Cabin In The Woods and that turned out pretty great so I was willing to give this the chance.
Unfortunately The Cabin has a much lower budget to work with so the story isn’t as adventurous as its similarly titled counterpart. What we get is a young couple driving to a cabin in the middle of nowhere to get away from it all. The cabin is owned by the boyfriends family and he has fond memories of weeks away when he was growing up. Sound familiar? That’s because it probably is, you...
