Actor Ali Suliman has said that he knew he wanted to be part of 'Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan,' immediately after reading the first scene in the pilot script. The scripts painted a multifaceted portrait of a terrorist, which Suliman considered rare for an American TV series.
The title of the season finale is "Inshallah" which means "If God wills it," in Arabic.
Fans of the Jack Ryan novels know that Jack was medically discharged from the U.S. Marines after a helicopter crash, but there are differences between the crash in the TV series and the crash described in the books. In the book series, Jack's helicopter crashed during an exercise very early on in his career in the Marines. In the TV series, we learn that Jack served in the Marine Corps for years before a cruel twist of fate brings down the helicopter airlifting Jack, fellow military officers and Afghani civilians to safety.
The end credits final line reads: The Central Intelligence Agency has not approved or endorsed the contents of this production.
In April, 2018, four months before the Season 1 global premiere, it was announced that the 'Jack Ryan' TV series had been renewed for a second season on Prime Video.
