Doctor Who has a habit of taking a throwaway line and making it into a big deal.
In 60th anniversary special “Wild Blue Yonder”, Russell T. Davies wrote what seemed like a passing joke about Isaac Newton mishearing the word ″gravity″ as “mavity” before committing to the bit and changing the word in the timeline from that point onwards, making the gag not so inconsequential after all.
Mavity isn’t alone in the show’s history. Throwaway lines have been seized upon and expanded over the years, some by the show’s fandom, but also by its writers. What started as world-building, texture or a dramatic beat has become the foundation for a whole new level of storytelling.
Lines like these…

The film reunites Birdsall & Johnson, who have collaborated together on several films, including the upcoming The Time War. Birdsall is fresh from the sci-fi flick Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter and newly-released rom-com Who’s Jenna…?. In Evolution War she plays Angel-d, a hero of the great machine war who returns to Earth to discover a terrible plague has wiped out humanity.
Currently shooting, Evolution War is described as a mix of Terminator and Pacific Rim, a science fiction film which sees the hero forced to build an army of robots to battle an army of mysterious creatures that are taking over the surface of the Earth.

A little while back we had the enigmatic bad-ass female lead Tracey Birdsall on the podcast to chat about her career, her connection to Disney and upcoming projects like The Time War (a Neil Johnson movie we are very much looking forward to seeing). I personally loved chatting to Tracey, you could tell she was excited about the craft and poured herself into each role she landed. So of course I am going to check out more of her projects especially one that boasts comedy, drama and porn… Sounds like all the key ingredients for a rom-com for guys.
When the info for Who’s Jenna? dropped into my inbox I was immediately taken by the mention of some...

With The Time War currently shooting currently shooting in the UK and Us, I was able to ask actress Tracey Birdsall a few questions regarding her role and what we can expect form the film
During World War 2, the Nazis were alleged to be experimenting with Time Travel Technology. What if they were successful?
The Time War shows the consequences of Adolf Hitler traveling through time and re-writing history. Rather than taking a campy-cartoony stance on the notion, The Time War takes a more serious, scientific-based approach to the consequences of time travel and the theoretical multi-verse. As Adolf Hitler starts to re-write his genetics, he learns that cause and effect are not as simple as it may seem on paper. After dealing with multiple versions of himself, his greatest nemesis is his own daughter Dijanne (played by Tracey Birdsall) who takes on his legacy of empire building and creates an army of one,...

Low budget indie Sci-Fi action movie, Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter is now in theaters across the Us and on Blu-ray from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. Starring acclaimed actress Tracey Birdsall (pictured, on the left, below), the film gives the actress a chance to flex her action-heroine muscles. We had the opportunity to fire some questions over to Tracey about her love of the film, the evolution of the script, and the future of the franchise.
How exactly did you get this role in Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter, Tracey? I read it was fashioned as a vehicle for you?
I had worked with the director before, and he wanted me to “lead up” one of his films, so Rogue Warrior was the result of that collaboration. We delved through a dozen or more scripts to find one that could be re-written as one that we both wanted to produce. Rogue Warrior...

British director Neil Johnson is a favourite around these parts. His sci-fi and horror extravaganzas may not have the biggest budgets or glossiest effects but they're a heck of a lot of fun and from the sounds of it, he's back at it.
Johnson's latest sounds like a doozy.
Originally written in 1995, The Time War imagines Hitler going back in time and rewriting history. It's a cool concept and details are vague so it's not clear how far he goes back in time and what history he's re-writing but you can expect things are going to get ugly.
After years of being on hold, The Time War went back into production in 2010 and Johnson was so convinced that it would get made that [Continued ...]...
