Surprisingly good movie

Charlavail Effron really steals the show. It is a shame she is not in any other films. It's not a high budget movie and it shows in mostly overlookable ways. Well written and acted.

Effron reflects on her wasted life choices as she's forced to ferry debt collector (Sinclitico) around as he interrogates an assortment of losers in search of a $50k payload. Sinclitico is tiring of the ugliness of his occupation, whereas Effron begins to see the possibilities of life ahead. Meanwhile the bodies pile up but the booty proves frustratingly elusive as the pair bond in defiance of their bleak, incompatible existence.

Shaky, handheld cinematography shot almost exclusively at night on location, and mostly whilst the leads are driving, it's (relatively speaking) amateur (e.g. Visible camera reflections) but otherwise entertaining and easy to watch despite its technical flaws. The lead actors are engaging, but their dialogue (and its looping) is fractured to such a degree that it often sounds like misfit dubbing. Rote, on-cue delivery lacks the appearance of listening and consequently interactions often seem stilted and unnatural.

The darkly humorous tone is sometimes uneven (or just too subtle for my antennae) but the plot has just enough quirky distractions to sustain its meagre runtime, never becoming tedious nor melodramatic even if the dialogue is sometimes cliched. It's just a shame there wasn't a bit more budget for the shoot, because the editing is tight and there's an entertaining tale led by a pair of sincere characters who together have genuine chemistry. Needed a little less existential pondering and a bit more action, but it's still worth a look if you can tolerate the home-movie vibe (and long to see El Paso by night).

A Great Indie Action Movie

Warning: Spoilers
I have a huge interest in amateur movies, and I've seen a variety of them, and I've enjoyed all of the ones I've seen. This is just as amazing as the rest, and maybe one of my favorites. This movie is full of crazy scenes of action and suspense, and a surprising ending. Like seriously, I had no idea David was gonna die. There wasn't anything that made me suspect it. This movie has a great script, great acting, and is overall a great movie!!

I also love how this movie was actually filmed in the town it takes place in!! A lot of movies are filmed in entirely different places instead of being filmed where they take place.

Amazing movie, and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves action and suspense!
