Thanks to Kevin Hart, we have been laughing nonstop for 20 years. Hart made his big screen debut playing a fictionalized version of himself (Kevin "Heart") in TV movie North Hollywood back in 2001, and his career has only skyrocketed since with hit after hit. From Hart-felt performances like in The Upside to his scene-stealing comedic timing in The Wedding Ringer and Get Hard, it makes sense why so many of Hart's films have become franchises. The Jumanji reboot landed two installments, while Ride Along 3 opposite Ice Cube is already in the works. Even an animated Hart in The Secret Life of Pets warranted a sequel! But,...

Kevin Hart‘s scary car accident over the weekend has a lot of people worried. While the star’s health is obviously first and foremost, studios must also consider the long-term ramifications of his ongoing recovery. For example, the extensive physical therapy he’ll have to endure on his way to a full recovery is expected to throw a lot of his upcoming projects into limbo. This isn’t the case for Jumanji: The Next Level, though.
From what we understand, Hart’s completely finished working on his next two movies, which includes the aforementioned sequel. The follow-up to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle wrapped in May and it sounds like the comedian has already concluded any reshoots necessary for the December premiere.
The actor has also done all the work needed to complete his new film Fatherhood. The flick’s expected to be released in April of 2020 and tells...

The superhero movie genre is getting Kevin Hart comedy Night Wolf, which comes from the writers of Detective Pikachu.
Night Wolf is joining the seemingly-ceaseless deluge of superhero cinema, with Kevin Hart set to star-in and produce the comedic cinematic genre offering.
STXfilms announced its acquisition of the script to Night Wolf, which is being described as a “high concept comic superhero” offering. The early details of the plot describe a scenario that’s initially akin to Meet the Parents, in which a man (Hart) meets his prospective father-in-law, eventually discovering the secret that he’s the film’s eponymous superhero, the Night Wolf.
The Night Wolf project was pitched by writer Dan Hernandez and Benji Samit, a duo who did some work on the screenplay for this past May’s live-action/animated hybrid film, Pokémon Detective Pikachu, as well as television comedy work on episodes of...

Deadline is reporting that filmmaker Tim Story, whose credits include Ride Along 2 and Kevin Hart: What Now?, has been elected director on New Line’s Shaft reboot.
Truth be told, it’s the first tangible sign of progress on the studio’s long-gestating redo in quite some time – more than a year ago, New Line brass stressed their desire to reinvent the story of Richard Roundtree’s iconic private eye, favoring drama over comedy and high-octane action – though there’s still no mention of an actor to take on the title role. Gordon Parks first brought the character to the silver screen back in 1971, before Samuel L. Jackson toed the line between cop and criminal in the John Singleton-directed 2000 remake.
Fast forward almost 20 years and Shaft is back in vogue once again. New Line is keeping plot details firmly under lock and key, but we understand the...

Oliver Twist, the time-honored saga from Charles Dickens, is bound for the big screen once more with a, ahem, twist.
This time, Disney is fanning the flames of a live-action version, and has now enlisted both Ice Cube and Thomas Kail, the Tony-winning director of Broadway hit Hamilton, for this new interpretation. As you’ve likely already gathered from the addition of Kail, the Mouse House is angling this particular version of Oliver Twist as a modern musical, one in which Cube will play the infamous part of Fagin, the ringleader of a London gang who introduces our titular orphan to the seedy world of pickpocketing and theft. Hardship, murders and secrets ensue.
By casting the N.W.A rapper-turned-actor, who most recently produced the rather excellent Straight Outta Compton, The Hollywood Reporter notes that Disney is aiming to broaden the scope of the traditional Dickens story, incorporating new music genres including hip-hop and more.

The first Ride Along was a runaway success when it came out in 2014. The $25 Million buddy action comedy pulled in $135 Million domestically. Despite the fact that the film was very paint-by-numbers, people simply loved the chemistry between stars Kevin Hart and Ice Cube. A sequel was inevitable. Ride Along 2 came out earlier this year, and the $40 Million follow-up pulled in $90 Million domestically. If you've noted that diminishing return, you're not alone. And yet today we learned that they're going to push on with a Ride Along 3.
During an interview with Tim Story, the director of both Ride Along films, The Wrap learned that a third film was in the works. "We’re writing the script right now. We’re writing away and basically, I’m waiting to see some pages and we’re excited for the idea and what it can be and of course bringing Kevin and...
