Siskel & Ebert (1996)

Season 10, Episode 43

The blockbuster INDEPENDENCE DAY, the documentary SPECIAL EFFECTS and John Travolta's PHENOMENON are reviewed on this episode of Siskel and Ebert. All three reviews are well-discussed and entertaining but the real fun starts on the special section where they talk about what went right with THE NUTTY PROFESSOR and what went wrong with THE CABLE GUY. This here leads to some fun debate about what people want in the movie. Another special section is devoted to the critics discussing their favorite films of the summer as well as the disappointments, which includes comments on ERASER, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, TWISTER and THE ROCK. Fans of the series will find this to be a very good episode with some fun debates and nice reviews.
