The film was nominated for two awards at the Brisbane 48 Hour Film Project 2016: Best Actor in a Leading Role (Jacob Paint) and Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Matt Clayton).
The name of the team, A Tale of Three Cities, is a reference to "A Tale of Two Cities" and the fact that the team was made of people from three cities: Brisbane, Sydney and Toronto.
This is the second Brisbane 48 Hour Film Project that Clare Clayton, Matt Clayton, Adam Fawns and Jacob Paint have worked on together, following A Day in the Death (2013). Adam Fawns and Jacob Paint have previously worked together in the competition on other years.
