Not very interesting and easy to forget, but some parts are okay
trollerbrendan27 April 2018
Season 1 of Westworld was sooooo great, so I might've had my expectations too high for the season 2 premiere. I was so excited to watch it, and when FINALLY the episode was over, i was disappointed.

It dragged on longer than it should've. the only story line that was interesting was maeve's. the rest of them had decent acting and dry dialogue.

Even though it wasn't the all glorious premiere i was personally hopeful for, it was a decent episode, BUT, the writers seriously need to get a little more creative

Not sure, just wasn't my favorite
nicktatta23 April 2018
It's good. It's entertaining. The character development lost me though. I'm a person that can empathize and enjoy going on the emotional journey. The nature of this show brought a new twist to this aspect of the story, but somewhere in that journey my heart fell out of love with the premise.

My friends like it, it's so well done it's ridiculous and the acting is above average with a very unique premise.

Worth a watch

Why does this episode has such low ratings in Westworld scale?
TheFirst0114 October 2019
I thought this episode was massively entertaining, and by far the most entertaining episode of the entire series, even if it clocks in at 1 hour and 13 minutes.

An instantly gripping return, full of promising new storylines
Westworld is finally back, and it continues to be a model of fantastic storytelling. The year and a half gap between seasons was definitely worth it, as it resulted in a more polished final product. Despite a mysterious opening and a cryptic, non-chronological nature of storytelling, the premiere is instantly engaging and tense and remains so for all 70 minutes. Although the episode serves largely as setup, the mere reveal of the new storylines (and evolutions of old storylines) is incredibly exciting due to the high quality of the writing and acting. I found the scenes between Sizemore and Maeve and the scenes between Bernard and Charlotte to be especially compelling. The characters play off of each other extremely well, and they are in very interesting positions right now.

All in all, this is a very strong premiere. It gets the season off to a running start with an engaging new network of plot-lines and character dynamics. I'm really looking forward to seeing more.

Second season shaping up to a great start
jwwalrath-227-8548723 April 2018
Don't be afraid that Westworld couldn't sustain itself after the first season. The new season starts off quite well with the Hosts rebelling and the guests trying to survive. A big question from last season is answered while several new questions are spun. I have no idea where this is going and I love it!

Also the acting is top notch again. They even do a better job withCharlotte's character, who was unbearable last season.

The one downside is that the Delos company is still a little too over-the-top in its jerkness and cold-heartedness. However, I don't consider that a deal breaker.

Great set up for an exciting season, but what's going on with ERW
mkk-311-co22 June 2021
I liked the episode, contrary to popular opinion. As many probably don't remember, the first season had a very slow start as well. This episode seemed to be setting up for a great story line. I can't wait to see how it develops!

BUT...does Evan Rachel Wood look different? It seems like she's wearing a very unconvincing wig and WAY more make up than in season one.

Worth the long wait for the season opener
chirox23 April 2018
Westworld returns with a season opener that hits all the right notes. Once again it's told in flashback/flashforward which will confuse some viewers but for fans of the show it' s become a part of what we expect. No answers in this episode, Maeve is back with vicious reality, The Man in Black (William) is fortunately still alive having survived the initial massacre and is till in fighting form, loving this new world where he can be hurt and has become the hunted. Delores has become the ring leader and her boy Teddy is trying to keep up with her. Bernard is as confused as ever, even more than usual it seems.

Stunning, don't miss it.

Westworld continues to be one of the best
ravvardembjr23 April 2018
The end of first season was mind blowing, and expectations for the second season were high as hell, but im please to say that the wait wasn't´t for nothing. The first episode of season 2 is intriguing and very violent, and I´m very happy for that. This season will be one of the best ones of the year, that was what I say before this episode, after this, is kind of an confirmation

They set the roof so high
samahrifla5 March 2020
I enjoyed thefirst season, althought some key elements of the first season were a little bit predictable, but they set the roof so high, with the philosophical meanings and discussions. It took me two ays to watch this episode because it was a bit boring. It lacks the charm it had left on us with last Season's finale. Also, a huge part I watched this series is because Anthony Hopkin in there, and now his absence is so visible.

Hell yes!! The kind of confusion I love!
This show gets me almost as hyped at GOT! This episode was full of blood and well deserved revenge! They put enough teasers in there to have you begging for more! And of course the acting is superb! Let the war Begin!

Season 2? And am I the only one who can't stand Dolores?
zadeuf9 January 2020
Season 1 was a great! Finishing S02E03 and still undecided about finishing the season. The first season kept me guessing what was happening. The second season feels boring. Visually wonderful but the dialogues are tedious at best. And Wood! Am I the only who feels she's as convincing as at badass in these episodes as Tobey McGuire was in Spider-Man 3(2007)?

A premiere should leave you wanting more and reigniting your excitement for the upcoming season, but this one lacked many elements. Hoping the next episodes get better.

An amazing start to season 2
moviesfilmsreviewsinc18 March 2022
Westworld has finally galloped back into the HBO corral-and with it comes many gifts. There are of course the violent delights and violent ends that we must expect from visiting Robert Ford's dreams within dreams, plus all the mazes that accompany therein. But more pleasing still is the return of true appointment television. It is rare in the modern age for a series to still crack the zeitgeist threshold and feel like an event that everyone must experience live, yet here we are, hanging on every syllable uttered by Bernard, figuring out whether he is friend or foe to his human compatriots, and wondering just exactly how Dolores' bloody revenge will escape the park. Still, before we cut that down, the question remains why do we return once again to Bernard and Dolores' Pinocchio sessions in the bowels of Delos' early years? There is of course the most fan-pleasing tangent where Arnold posits that Dolores scares him, and the rancher's daughter blankly asks why on earth would anyone ever fear her? Wyatt only knows, my dear. However, the more important moment in this sequence is Dolores asking what is real. Arnold, struggling mightily to answer his ward, finally manages to articulate, "That which is irreplaceable." Still, something turned Bernard against his own kind, if it was in fact Bernard's play to bring about this apocalypse for hosts. However, that's a narrative for another day. In the meantime, we must simply bask at being back in the park, which for this first spring sojourn in 2018 has been nothing short of delightful. Is it possible that even though Anthony Hopkins seems definitely done with Westworld, season 2 is still just a giant narrative in which Dolores, Maeve, Bernard, et al. Are the guests? Plus William, of course. Always William.

Quality plus quantity
joshwilliams-2883726 April 2018
Such an incredible show gets underway quite well. I still feel like my questions were answered but somehow the setup here is just as good. Sound design incredible, watch it loud! People complaining about the violence & swearing- did they not expect it after the end of season 1? I expect once the plot takes over in the next few episodes, we'll have more 'breaking bad season 2' than 'true detective season 2'.

So many story lines and time lines to explore and all are presented in such a Westworld fashion! Strong opening for what seems like a strong season.

Masterclass Episode

Omg what the hell man. This opening episode takes deeper into the story. The content in the episode is equivalent to a whole season. Probably the best episode of the show.

Not too confusing if you pay attention, looks like Season 2 will cover both ends of approx 2 weeks from the party/slaughter to whatever happens in the Valley beyond. A little lame to introduce new tech after Season 1, the local networking feature, Charlotte's bunker, the brain pods and cerebral fluid. But a nice pickup from S1,Dolores, Maeve, Bernard seem to have story arcs to get on with.

I'm so glad that it's came after a year & a half This series is not like any other series you have watched, no answers no why & no causes Pure philosophy, mind blowing script. I love how the characters are developed & it kept the 1st season spirit.

Mediocre mess
barryhalmore23 April 2018
Looks like the intelligence is gone with Hopkins. What used to be complicated is now confusing. Regardless of the excessive violence it was blatantly boring in the end.

Never understood the reason for a second season.
