The cable channel HGTV is constantly renovating its programming lineup, constructing new offerings while leaving others to the proverbial wrecking ball. And while some ex-hgtv shows are probably better left off the schedule — the stars of Escape to the Chateau could probably use a timeout, for example — others are sorely missed. Here are eight HGTV shows that fans on X (formerly Twitter) — including one celebrity — want back on the airwaves. Boise Boys “What is @HGTV doing? Where are the #BoiseBoys?” user @AnnHeard14 tweeted in 2019. “This is ridiculous. I guess I will binge-watch both seasons today and into the night. … I want more @boise_boys… Now Please!” Boise Boys designer Luke Caldwell and contractor Clint Robertson — whom HGTV billed as renovators with polar-opposite approaches — returned to the network with a new show, Outgrown in 2021, but that successor only lasted one season. And now the Boise Boys have become Boise Boy: Caldwell...

Exclusive: Channel 4 has abruptly cancelled its Four Weddings reboot in a move that has had the industry speculating over the state of the network’s finances amidst declining ad revenues and an economic downturn.
Deadline understands around two-dozen people were due to start production on Four Weddings shortly but were informed earlier this week that the show had been stood down, leaving the production team blindsided. ITV Studios-backed MultiStory Media was producing the reboot and it was commissioned several weeks ago, with production due to take place over the summer. Freelancers have instead been given a compensation package for a two-week notice period, we understand.
Four Weddings aired on Sky for four seasons around a decade ago and sold to several territories around the world including TLC in the U.S. The Come Dine with Me-style show follows four brides or grooms attending each other’s weddings, as they rate them on dress,...

The hit British reality series Escape to the Chateau, which airs on HGTV and also streams on Peacock in the U.S., has been dropped amid claims of bullying against its stars, Dick and Angel Strawbridge. Escape to the Chateau follows couple Dick and Angel Strawbridge and their family as they buy and renovate a run-down French chateau while raising two young children and starting a business hosting weddings and other events. The show aired on Channel 4 in the U.K., but the network cut ties with the couple last week following an independent investigation into their conduct. In leaked audio obtained by Deadline, Angel appears to be cursing at a crew member, referring to them as a “f***** up little c***,” and accusing them of posting images on Instagram mocking her and her husband. “Who is that inspired by when you’re f****** working at the chateau?” Angel is heard saying,...

Exclusive: Channel 4 is facing fresh questions over how it dealt with bullying allegations against the stars of its hit series, Escape to the Chateau, after the emergence of a leaked recording featuring Angel Strawbridge hurling offensive language at a producer.
Deadline revealed last week that Channel 4 had cut ties with Dick and Angel Strawbridge following an independent investigation into their conduct, but sources argued that the broadcaster should have taken action against the couple sooner.
Channel 4 has a “zero tolerance” approach to bullying and harassment, but did not fully investigate evidence that came to light in 2021, which purported to show Angel calling a producer a “f*****g c**t.”
Deadline has now obtained a copy of an audio recording of Angel that appears to show that this was not an isolated incident. In the clip, published below, she can be heard describing a member of the Escape to the Chateau...

Deadline can reveal that the British commercial broadcaster will no longer work with the couple, despite the success of their Escape To The Chateau series and various spin-off shows.
Sources said Two Rivers Media, the company that produces the Escape To The Chateau franchise, raised concerns about the Strawbridges and said it would no longer work with the couple.
The precise nature of the allegations against the duo is not known, but Deadline has spoken to three of their former colleagues, who alleged that the Strawbridges have clashed with the producers.

Comcast and NBCUniversal are pushing Peacock out of the nest starting Wednesday, April 15, promising to unfurl a rich plume of 15,000-plus hours of streaming content, first for the cable giant’s own TV and internet customers.
Peacock is then slated to be available across the U.S. on July 15 — while NBCU is mulling the possibility of moving that up sooner — in various three tiers across mobile, web and connected-tv devices: paid with ads ($4.99 monthly); paid with no ads ($9.99 monthly); and completely free with ads with a truncated content lineup. With the national launch, Comcast (and Cox) subscribers also will have the option to get an ad-free version of the service for an additional $5 per month.
So what’s on the menu? Peacock will include live and on-demand content across current and past TV shows, movies, news, and late night programming, with some live sports once they resume post-pandemic. Most of...
