Way better than 6.6/10

Not sure what show the other folks were watching. This is Sunny through and through and a great way to express a big moment in Philly history.

A love letter to Philly
tomidimtut26 January 2019
Besides the ups and downs, the jokes and de ridiculousness the last minutes of this episode are pretty wonderful and you can see the love for the city that this guys have. Ultimately it's about embracing who the people of Philly are, with their flaws and all. The ending, with the videos of the Eagles fans, is just what ties it all together.

Didnt work out the way they split it
bdhowell-7860510 August 2021
Shoulda been a straight chronological two-parter, splitting the previous Charlie-centric ep with this one.

Where's Dennis?

His absence is extremely noticeable. Made a mediocre episode even worse.

Mac said it when he said "We never win"
tolschewski1 November 2018
Do not listen to the haters. This episode wasn't truly about being funny or outrageous. It was about the Gang FINALLY getting a win. The synopsis of the show is that they always lose, no matter what. Sure there could have been better jokes, and as someone stated, made into a one hour show. It wasn't about that. If you're a fan of this show, you'll enjoy this episode. The Gang won. Of course it's paying service to the fans of Philly, the show is based in Philly. Grow up haters, just enjoy the show. The episode was based on them winning.

There is still hope

This still wasn't a great episode by the shows standards, but, it did make me smile. I like this second part a lot more than the first part last week. It was still a bit empty and disorganised, but, I did laugh a few times. I think if they had completely abandoned Charlie's separate storyline, included Dennis, and cut all of the unnecessary secondary characters, then this could have been a really great episode. I think the show still has some good episodes left in it, but. I would get rid of the new writers and get right back to basics.

One of my favorites

Not an eagles fan but definitely felt their excitement of bringing the joy of Phily on that amazing moment with so much creativity and great jokes. I laughed out loud many times on this one.

The Gang Goes to the Super Bowl
Samuel-Shovel28 August 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In "The Gang Wins the Big Game" we watch the rest of the gang (sans Charlie) go to the Super Bowl. After a few hiccups along the way, everyone eventually makes it, much to the chagrin of Mac embarrassed by the crew they've assembled. Mac keeps taking Frank to the bathroom because every time they go, the Eagles score. Frank tries his best to pass a kidney stone. Dee has pink eye that blinds her and through a Mr. Magoo-esque scene of her wandering the stadium, she eventually leads to Tom Brady getting pink eye as well.

While this one's not my favorite, it is better than Part I with just Charlie. Having an ensemble of characters to use is much better than having a one man show (even though I love Charlie, that's hard to pull off). It's nice to see all these different tertiary characters get a guest appearance this season (although I've grown tired of the waiter being their server everywhere they go).

Perfect

This episode is extremely self indulgent but it's also the best depiction of what it is like to be a sports fan that there is.

The Gang Wins the Big Game
bobcobb3011 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The low score is not because I am a Patriots fan upset with having to relive the Super Bowl. The low score is because we had a lazy episode last week about superstitions and football that somehow dragged into a two parter wrapping up tonight.

Very few laughs outside of Frank consistently talking about kidney stones. Hopefully the season finale is vastly better than this.

What is going on
bmiluszusky1 November 2018
Three stinkers in a row...this season has been a huge disappointment aside from maybe 3-4 episodes, and this one is easily the worst...even worse than last week. The writers they've brought on this season clearly don't get it, the ship is slowly sinking...maybe it's time to hang it up.

A mess
oldchummer7 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The whole group dynamic felt off. Almost the whole time it felt as if Mac's lines were meant for Dennis. Mac's bossy, but he's not necessarily the one trying to keep everyone in line, didn't particularly feel like his character. Mac's not a very methodical character. A lot of the gags weren't all that funny or original either, that being Frank having trouble with his prostate (but whenever he needs to pee the Eagles seem to score), Dee having pink eye, and a lot of the shoehorned fan service gimmicks about longtime Sunny characters like Cricket, Rex, Bill Ponderosa, Uncle Jack, etc.

It would've been way funnier if they did this just between the gang in its usual form, but they crammed in too many characters, and relied on lazy humor. I've really tried to like this season of Sunny, but it keeps letting me down. I don't particularly have an issue with topical humor (South Park does this brilliantly), however I can't help but feel as if the creative team on the show has gone on autopilot. The gags are all predictable and much less funny than they were in previous seasons, and the topical episodes seem to try and distract from that as best as they can. It also doesn't help that a lot of the original writers aren't contributing to the episodes quite as much. This all feels like some bad fanmade episodes this season. I love this show, but this season has been plain boring and unfunny, which is the last thing I'd expect to say about this show.

Yet another forced, not natural episode at all
jpapanone31 March 2020
Warning: Spoilers
Dee as Mr Magoo for a weak payoff? She gets worse every season.

And waitress plot line stupid.

It wasnt necessarily just the plot lines...but it was execution. Just falls flat.

The show gets worse
treborbasset1 November 2021
Almost the entirety of season 13 was a disappointment. What makes this episode particularly disappointing is the promise that it shows. Straight away we are shown a number of previous guest stars. But very quickly they squander those opportunities.

The main problem with this episode is the lack of humour. It's just not funny. That's basically it. Everything feels forced. None of the dialogue flows. Even a classic situation like the waiter not being recognised fails to land, because everybody has had so much plastic surgery that they can't produce normal facial expressions any more.

I found myself actually empathising with the waiter, which is how you know it's gone wrong. It's an episode with Pondy, and Pondy's the coolest! But he's barely in it. He might as well not have been in it. Same goes for Cricket, and every other guest star.

I don't care about whatever team is playing in whatever sport this is, and I get that the creators probably do care. Previous episodes such as The World Series Defense or The Gang Gets Invincible were hilarious.

Ultimately it doesn't matter what the subject matter is, it just has to be funny, and this wasn't funny. Excluding Dennis from the the whole episode and Charlie from almost all of it probably didn't help, but the main problem was the dialogue, situations, script, and how it was read. It just wasn't like the gang. I wonder why it had a female director who had nothing to do with the show.
