So confusing. Realistic in some ways, but bage in others
MiketheWhistle22 October 2018
First I have to say that some of the ep was very realistic and was really hard to watch. That had to do with the firefight and the double leg injury which as a former corpsman was too great a reminder of the past. But other pieces were total crap. They hit the cp but only two civies are killed. I'm tired of the battleship and like to know how it can see so much more of the field than allies. They come up inside the enemy and sit there while their guys get mowed down. no way. Wolf using his bayonet is something a lot of people don't realize, along with the digger to the head. You use whatever you've got to stay alive. I'm glad this is the last season, but I wonder if it wasn't if the show would be better. Why such a high score; because maybe it'll make some people understand what it's like to be in the dirt.

One of the best this season.

The Last Ship Episode 5.07 (4.5 out of 5 stars).

This episode finally picks up and is worth watching. One of the best this season. Which makes it seem like it is the turning point of the season while being very climatic. Chandler and his team are stuck battling at the enemy's compound. Trying to put an end to the fight.

The episode is action packed. And it does have some coherent realistic action sequences during the military combat. It can be intense and thrilling. The team face against a tank. And a battleship firing at them. One of the better exciting episodes. Meanwhile, at the U.S. Communication center they come across their traitor.

One thing I feel like the episode still struggles with is how easily the U.S. high security facility makes the mistakes in proper security. The high ranking officers making stupid decisions in putting themselves at risk for infiltration.

Otherwise, one of the best episodes in the season.

Maybe the best episode of the series

Warning: Spoilers
(SPOILERS) This episode is loaded with action from the start. I've been impressed with the movie quality effects on this tv series, but this episode outdoes itself. The huge battle at "Camp X" is very well done. Although Miller's heroism is foreshadowed, the details were still quite a surprise. Alisha's girlfriend is evil. Chandler continues his immortality.

Eye rolls galore, head shakes, groans, then laughter! So, so bad!

Warning: Spoilers
Every episode is getting worse than the one before. These can't be the same writers as for Season 1!

50 cal in a fort high tower and on a tank firing non-stop and hit no one, must be shooting feathers.

A tank cannon shot that only wounded one soldier's feet after exploding under three. So silly! What will be more silly is I'm sure he will be back next episode or two, mastered his new artificial legs, and will soon have to pull one off to successfully bludgeon an enemy while fighting hand-to-hand lol.

Endless ammunition for everyone, and an impenetrable enemy fort abandoned for a reckless charge in the open.

Buckets of military jargon used wrong. (I'm guessing the writers picked them up after watching some on-line real soldiers vids, and have no idea what they mean)

Enough Deus ex machina to make you nauseated.

And, it's *not the last ship*!

I don't think I can continue with this series. Every episode seems more concerned to acknowledge every special interest group instead of good plots. It's too obvious what is going to happen for the remainder of this season, and it's got me hoping for the virus from Season 1 mutating and wiping out everyone it missed before.

Children would really enjoy this, though...

Title says it all. Best so yet, not much to do with the Nathan James but as far as action goes, 10/10.

Episode 507

So, the action is still there, but the story in this final season just feels really weak. It seems like an unrealistic idea of how the world would have turned out in this scenario too.

Too Stupid to Live!

Warning: Spoilers
I was quite enjoying this series up to this episode. I was prepared to accept, for the sake of the plot, that senior officers would abandon their posts to go out in the field and put themselves in harm's way. I accepted when the writers gave up all pretence of there being a reason for this other than "well, he's the star of the show so we need maximum exposure". I grudgingly accepted that a minor character was a helmsman on the bridge one minute, then part of the assault team a few moments later, then appears with good ideas in the engine room. After all, the ship only has around three hundred people on it. No doubt every one of them is trained in every aspect, and it's important they get rotated around.

Now we're expected to believe that when the person responsible for crippling the US forces' defences in a cyber attack turns up at their headquarters 'to surrender herself', she's immediately taken to the hub of the command operation and the people in charge stop prosecuting the war to play nice with her. What a surprise when she becomes sick suddenly. Of course an ambulance is called. Of course the ambulance crew is waved straight through when they arrive. No doubt their hands will be held as they're led up to the Operations Centre. I don't need to watch the last three minutes to know what happens next. I don't think anyone on the planet would need to ... except the naval high command portrayed here and the writers of this episode, obviously.

I was going to rate this episode "one", but as another reviewer has said, in other respects - if you're a fan of gun battles, at least - it's pretty good.

Urgh. This episode was appalling

Warning: Spoilers
I love this show. I have thoroughly enjoyed it since it started. These last three or so episodes have had a significant drop in writing standard.

Like @rsvp321 stated, the majority of this had a ridiculous amount of unbelievability.

Why is there an IOWA class battleship floating around out there? They have the time to give it a new paint job? ha.

The all have sights on their rifles, why did they not kill the tank gunner and the soldier in the tower. Why is everyone doing mad dash runs to try to retrieve a single soldier.

A shot from the tank lands in a tiny puff of smoke and someone loses a leg. Later, the same tank fires a shot as someone running and it does the same with no impact.

I like how a 16" shell from a battleship that seems to have no targeting guidance simply upturns furniture in a room. This place with inhabitants not even evacuated seems to be 50m away from the camp yet none of the soldiers shoot at it.

missiles from the ship have instantly calculated waypoints for a manual process.

After having next to know soldiers to attack the fort, the door is blown open and about 50 soldiers run forward to attack. Where were they when six people were trying to unsuccessfully shoot enemy soldiers standing and kneeling in the open?

Why are you bringing the person responsible for the downfall of systems through the main control area? Why do you have no security at all?

This episode is pretty much the weakest in a long time with a recent decline overall.

I really enjoyed this show, it's a shame the believability is less so of late. I am actually glad it's not going beyond this season.

That's it, I'm done!

Warning: Spoilers
This must surely have hit rock bottom now. This episode was like a poor soap opera episode, the suspension of disbelief required to get through it was just too much. The previous two episodes were bad but somehow this managed to dig lower.

I've watched from the beginning and I loved the show but it's going down fast. I give up now!
