Good movie, bad direction
mat123-118 December 2018
Warning: Spoilers
The movie is good, considering the technical aspects. Good locations, very good photography, good actors, and a... well, believable story. Some Spanish accents sound weird, but overall is a well made film. I watch a lot - and I mean a lot - of Mexican movies and no, this is not above the average, as someone else stated, because the direction is lame. The action sequences are clumsy and the dramatic scenes are poor. Many situations feel rehearsed and unnatural.

The enemy arguments are also really weak. I mean, he has good motives to be angry, but not to blame the guy for the death of the wife. It could be called a medical error, a God's Act (as lawyers like to say), but not a "sacrifice" as he puts. How the hell the protagonist could guess the women would bleed to death out of nowhere? The whole "photography is bad" speech could also be avoided.

And why the free tits? They were not lovers, there was no rush or something justifying, why would you risk narrowing the audience rating for 5 seconds of nudity? I like it, but why?

Now, the two guys becoming friends in the end, because the antagonist saw a poster with a foto? Really? They changed from mortal enemies to buddies in 5 seconds? Please, it is insulting. For a 2h movie they could get rid of at least good 20 minutes of trips and other unimportant scenes and make a decent drama for the grand finale.

The daughter was also too fast at accepting the "ghost dead", although she throws a good slap in his face.

IMHO It does worth watching, way better than several blockbusters out there, but could be better.

Great Story Line

This movies is sure to capture anyone's attention, and sense of humanity. Very good actors and as Gutten Tag Ramon, the directors does a fine job to portray the story so it moves you. This movie is sure to touch your heart and emotions, and the ability to cross borders in filming shows how the Mexican film industry is world class.

highly recommend it!!!
