It's Actually an Enjoyable Show!
collectorofsorts23 December 2019
I just found the 'Flip or Flop' franchise of shows a month or so back and I have to say that I enjoy the basics here. I like that they do budget friendly flips. Not everyone can afford half-a-million dollar homes. Some of the homes they flip can be a little odd. But, we all have different tastes. The things I don't like about the show are basically co-host related. The lady flipper has a voice that makes my ears hurt (they could auto-tune it in production). And, it seems like she never learned to apply her makeup properly for her skin tone. She often takes me back to my childhood days when she gets out of her tiny car and I look back expecting 13 more colorful ladies/gents to be climbing out. Other than those things, I like the show.

Flip Or Flop Redux
atlasmb8 April 2017
"Flip or Flop Vegas" follows the blueprint of the original show. Aubrey and Bristol Marunde are the married couple who buy, renovate and resell homes in need of modernization and care. This is the first spin-off of the original "Flip or Flop"; HGTV reportedly promises four more.

Aubrey is a real estate agent and designer. Bristol is the contractor (who is also a MMA fighter). Their talents dovetail nicely and they have a pleasant chemistry. Aubrey has a sense of humor, though her personality is rather low-key.

The tastes of potential buyers in Las Vegas are similar to those in the original (California) show. Water restrictions, a warm climate, and sophisticated tastes mean that interior and exterior designs will result in makeovers that viewers (will feel like they) have seen before. Expect granite countertops, hardwood floors, open floor plans and outdoor spaces that feature non-green areas.

Viewers who enjoy the original "Flip or Flop" should enjoy this version. HGTV is doubling down on that bet.

What does being an MMA fighter have to do with this topic? Answer: NOTHING!

This show was billed as following the model of the original "Flip or Flop". But, it doesn't really. Yes, it has a couple acquiring homes that need work, and they do do that work. But that's where it ends. These people have two children that we see from time to time. But they don't really include them in the show like the El Moussa's do. I haven't even seen their names on-screen nor were they introduced to us. They just come and go. The difference is obvious. They don't seem to understand that helps humanize them to us. And warm our feelings about them and the show. But maybe they don't care about that. But they're very concerned about letting us know that they can (if they have too), beat people up. That's included in the opening scenes for every episodes. And I'm already sick of that. Also on the original show general contractors were introduced on-screen, as were most other contractors. Even the people that do the staging for them. You got to feel you knew these people from week to week. And in a small way come to care about those people. That's not part of this show. There are people moving around in the background. But the spotlight stays on the hosts. This show is nowhere near as well put together as the original, "Flip or Flop". That show does most the same things this show does. But this one is poorly organized and just doesn't flow from one end to the other like the original. I've noticed they rarely use story producers, or show producer and haven't used full fledged field producers at all. They have a field associate producer some of time. And, I think this is part of what's led to a show that doesn't feel anywhere near as warm as Flip or Flop. Meanwhile there has been no change in quality of Flip or Flop. And it's fairly widely known there have been problems behind the scenes over there. But, it hasn't affected the quality of the show. Both people on this show are personable, I guess. But the emphasis on their martial arts training and all the talk about it during the show becomes a "roll of the eyes" moment. And if you're a fan of the other show. You know that the quality of work is just not the same as that done by the El Moussa's. That's not a fan talking. It's just the facts of what we've seen so far. I hope they work on the organization and polish of the show. But so far it's been a disappointment

I'm reading the bad reviews on flip or flop vegas, and i don't get it. these people are trashing aubrey's designs - "too vegas glam" or "too kitchy" or "too specific". but, essentially, all of the flips for which she designs are sold at list price - or above - within hours or days of listing. gotta give it to her that she knows her real estate. THIS IS VEGAS people. she sold a completely gold condo on the strip above list. she sold the "blush" flip within hours, as well. this is not waco, texas, people. vegas is one of the hottest real estate markets in the usa. give her credit for knowing her market well. as for her voice - ha - it's pretty whiney. but, that's her voice. get over it. and bristol actually does the construction. he builds custom items - saving them money. they construct their own cabinets - saving them money. what, exactly, does tarek do? and flip or flop with t&c has become so scripted and predictable. ugh. how many more times do i have to watch tarek balk at the cost of chrstina's designs? only to agree, and concede in the end. flip or flop vegas is refreshing. and aubrey and bristol provide relief from the off screen drama of the original t&c. personally, i can't watch them anymore.

Horrible Design Horrible Acting
cecilynn25 August 2017
I can go into a Z Gallerie and buy their cheap looking items myself. There is no design in their show, just cheap crap everywhere. I don't care if it is Vegas. No one wants to live in a house that looks like Z Gallerie on steroids. And don't try to act like Chip and Jo, be yourself. I'm no longer taping the show. Let's get something new and interesting, not the same old same old HGTV.

Welcome to Pee Wee's Playhouse!
nikoyam24 June 2018
As an interior designer, this show is an absolute insult to our abilities. HGTV already does a poor job of displaying the reality of being an interior designer by glamorizing what we do as nothing more than making things "look pretty" by waving our magic wands and marrying some buff handyman. But this show is like going to the land of unicorns and popsicles. I feel like I'm watching a little girl create the spaces she imagines in her dreams (our nightmares). The cheap, tacky designs she puts together feel like they'll cause night terrors or put you in a comma. She has no focal point, but rather 8 million focal points. Her color spectrum is childish and garish. She is cheap and has extremely poor taste in EVERYTHING! Her poor husband seems like a ready-built hubby-to-go that she winds up so that he nods at all her bad choices and pretends to like whatever crazy idea she throws out. And I don't believe for one minute that these realtors really love her whack-a-doo designs. I've seen too many pained, constipated first reactions before they pretend to like her dollhouses. Feels like they're told to be positive. Shame on you HGTV for being so concerned with having a cutie-pie, cookie cutter couple that you fail to actually look for talent! I am not amused.

I Actually enjoy this show!
bellajns10 June 2017
I don't disagree that Aubrey's voice is a little high pitched but it's her voice...not like she can change it. I like the fact that this show is not as fake and scripted as Tarek and Christina have come to be. Christina's direct talking to cameras is always so stiff and obvious she is reading form a card. Aubrey designs for the buyers in Vegas. It may not be your taste but she gets good feedback from Realtors and sells houses. Some of her designs are a bit much for anywhere else but again...this is VEGAS!! I believe she knows more about costs and materials and the renovation budgets just seem ridiculous because people are used to watching Tarek and Christina spend 60K on every house. Once again it is a market difference. All these people hating on the show don't seem to understand that difference. Anyway, please HGTV don't ruin the show by making the silly scripted moments like people dropping granite counters and bathtubs "Oh My!" Or cars getting stolen from in front of the house like on Flip or Flop original. As for them not putting their kids on the show, that is a responsible parenting decision and I fully support them. How well has the limelight worked out for Tarek and Christina???? Maybe these two actually have a clue about how to handle things and people just cant stand there isn't more drama. I, for one, prefer to watch a nice 30 minutes of a house coming to life without all the BS drama and fake stuff. Keep it up Aubrey and Bristol! You are fun to watch.

No ... Just No
grda-9828218 May 2017
HGTV is my favorite TV ... but I must change the channel if Flip or Flop Vegas is coming on because that voice (Aubrey) is like nails on a chalkboard and her designs are sorely lacking. 'Glam' is not the answer for everything. There must be another couple somewhere who are less annoying and more talented. Please find them soon and make these 7 shows the end of this road. This is the only program on HGTV that is consistently bad.

I Love This Show!

The couple is adorable and the budget is much more realistic than other shows. I also like that they do their own shopping and shop on clearance. The end results are fun and colorful.

Duplex by UNLV
marlene-kent23 April 2019
Just watched the episode where they flipped a duplex a block from UNLV. When they pulled up, there were 3 doors. One door for each of the units. But what was behind door #3??? I feel cheated! 😂

Such a terrible show...
Suzi3826 April 2017
I tried watching the first episode, but couldn't stop laughing. It was so cheezy. I just finished the second show and I am raving mad. I renovate homes for a living. I'm doing a kitchen remodel and a master bath remodel. The kitchen is nothing spectacular, but moving walls, all new cabinets and countertops, appliances, redoing floors. The cost has already rose to $35k. So, you are going to tell me this couple was able to do a whole house remodel, beautiful tile in bathroom, redo pool all for $37K. What a freaking joke. These shows are so unreal!! It makes the job of actual renovators really tough, when customers think this is legit.

I like it !
fishbite20 June 2017
Sure the format is very much the same but at least Aubrey has a style different than Christina's white, & many shades of gray...same thing ..over & over. It's Vegas! & its about glam ! & glitter & out of the box. There is nothing wrong with her voice, I can understand her much more than Christina.Got tired of the divorce drama .. I think Bristol is a cool nice guy & they are a sweet couple. Best of luck with the new show !

A poor followup program
rwills-128 April 2017
There is nothing extra special about their designs and they only spend the minimum amount of money. I also don't believe the last remodel could have been done for only $24,000. But the greatest problem with the show is Aubrey's voice. Maybe with time, the show will improve but I won't be watching because her voice makes me cringe every time she talks.

God awful
danihollanddd6 April 2018
So cheap, so trashy. Truly don't understand how these two got picked for a show. Zero talent and horrendous designs. I love the original flip or flop but this spin off is just garbage. How it got renewed for a second season is beyond me

Tackiest decor ever
acsacknitz19 May 2018
Although I'm a big fan of the other Flip or Flop versions, I wish HGTV would cancel the Vegas franchise. Most of the makeovers look like the "before" version of a design show. The designs are tacky and garish and I can't believe they actually sell some of these properties.

I can't believe all the negative reviews!! I'm a Flip or Flop fan, and Tarek and Christina are a tough act to follow, but I enjoy Aubrey and Bristol. I like Aubrey's designs and like Christina, she's so confident in her design choices. Tarek and Bristol are lucky guys! I'll be watching Flip or Flop Vegas every week.

Doesn't connect
padmapeg11 May 2017
Why would you repeat the format of a successful show with this poorly done replica? The way the hyped up Vegas environment comes across (really superficial) doesn't work for me, the hosts don't connect with the audience, and the makeovers aren't anything special. A (C-) show on an otherwise a+ network. And way too much advertising for it on the network. Let it die a quiet death and let's come up with a brand new formula with the right people.

LOVE this show!
bucko-3804023 August 2018
My wife and I love flipping shows, but this one particularly. Aubrey has very good designs and I love the chemistry between she and Bristol. I like Bristol much better that Tarek from Flip or Flop as he is a much more likable guy, plus he actually knows what he's doing.

Great tips if you are decorating a trailer park
vivihomedepot1 June 2017
I have to agree with the other review that Aubrey has the worst voice ever, to go along with the worst show ever. Due to frequent plane travel, I enjoy watching everything on HGTV but this, and Hometown (a close second) are just too bad to waste any flight time on. Stripper décor is not for everyone, even in this town. Even if Tarek and Christina are feuding, they still have class. This show is proof - maybe you can get the couple our of the gutter to make a show, but a house with clearance crap is not creating a home for a buyer, yet shows you know how to scrape the bottom of a barrel for design choices, clothing, and hairstyles.

Love this program!
dnail-6146222 February 2018
Wow! So much better than Tarek and Christina! T&C always seemed so fake and negative to me. Bristol and Aubrey have a wonderful show and I love her voice! So, I don't get the negative comments on that. Bristol and Aubrey appear to be a super friendly and genuinely happy couple.

Aubrey has great design ideas. There was one that I thought, hmmm, not so much, but love her style for the most part.

Please HGTV, keep them for many seasons to come!!!

So bad. And really seems like they are using fake numbers
dlssontag1 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
So it's so bad. Worst show ever on the channel by far. Just watched one where Aubrey painted everything purple and kept making lame/awkward innuendoso about size if you know what I mean. Also her voice is horrible to listen to. Her hair makes her look like the mom from the munsterso. Her designs are simple as hell. Every episode is the same. Tear all the walls down and put in a island in the kitchen. Ohhhhh and the 100 percent lie about the price of the renovations.she just makes up numbers.

Horrible...
jmaryhastings25 June 2018
...if I could give 0 stars I would. I never take time out of my day to write reviews but this madness has got to stop! Aubrey needs to educate herself on proper design as she has no taste. I just watched an episode and almost the whole house was covered in gold...just awful. HGTV...you can do better here.

Is it canceled yet?
lilac-315826 May 2017
Just horrible... I mean it is the exact same show as the original is just based in Vegas, except with more annoying people. The girl has a very annoying voice that I just can't manage to get pass and she's a bit whiny as well, which makes it that much harder to watch. No offense, but it doesn't seem like there is a lot going on upstairs, especially when you compare her to Christina whom has smarts and classy taste (maybe that's just Vegas). The guy does the construction but still has time to be a UFC fighter (or whatnot), which must be a big promo for his fighting career (perfect for Vegas again). I think the program could be a bit classier or at least the houses & the things they remodel on it. I would think they can afford it looking at the car he drive considering its the first episode.

All in all, I think the show is just played out. Not many people want to watch a less than average carbon copy of the original.

Designs for the Designer, Not Her Audience
alwaysrock-8890620 July 2017
Obviously no one can replace Tarek and Christina, but what a disappointment for such a promising spin off. My biggest reason for the awful rating is Aubrey's designs. I'm all for Vegas glitz and glam, but her designs are way too feminine. For a college-aged gay guy to say that, I think that is saying something! Aubrey seemed to dominate the show--with her tacky designs--and Bristol was only there at her side or working in the background. Furthermore, I think the producing of this show is off. Bristol and Aubrey added up the costs up front and there were no follow-ups (when unexpected issues arise) that I recall, aside from the final calculation at the end of the episode. Being the immediate spin off of the original is never easy, but HGTV could do so much better than a wannabe Christina El Moussa.

Calm down people. This IS VEGAS!!
andrea-198137 July 2018
Although a native New Yorker, I totally get Vegas Glam and Audrey does it so well. In my opinion, she is an intelligent, artistic designer that deliberately pushes the boundary to escape the norm and in my books, nothing wrong with that. I think people forget that most of their flips are well below $300k which means packing in the glam, high-end look has to be done with low budgets. Yes, she uses accessories that aren't expensive, but she only does so where necessary and balances it all out with high-end materials in other places. That is a very creative use of resources that she should be applauded for. As for the chemistry between her and Bristol, I think it's obviously genuine which is why they work so well together. And for those haters out there, here's something for you to think about - they sell all their properties almost immediately after their flip without problems. I think people get overly emotional and carried away with semantics that they forget what matters in business - you only need find one buyer for whatever you're selling anyway you can. Aubrey knows her market, knows her customers and gives them what they're looking for. She only needs one customer - just the one and she gets it everytime. You go girl!!
