It just dawned on me, as I was rewatching this particular music video of theirs, that it's ten years ago that I saw Franz Ferdinand live and I still can't believe I had this
great chance. Amazing concert, the guys are highly charismatic on stage just like in their videos, very performatic like many great actors and Alex Kapranos even said some words in
Portuguese. Gotta admire them. Enough of this trip to the memory, let's talk about "Do You Want To?", one of their most innovative, humored and colorful clips of all time.
The story revolves of the four guys, all dressed on an exact same fashion, crashing a bizarre art event at a museum with unique and unusual artists and characters, such as the countless eccentric men walking around or the sexualized robotic girls at the same an exposition of strange artistic performances dominate the whole small place. Franz Ferdinand disrupt everything and everyone, cause plenty of mess, play around with people and things at the same time they find some time to perform the charming song.
Definitely their most fun they ever video while shooting a video and that feeling translates into viewers as well. It's a whole chaotic scenario because of them and we enjoy all the fun and confusion they cause on the people there but they are joined by the crowd as well near its conclusion. Along with that whole visual comedy, the song is one of their most creative, catchy and awesome creations. I never get tired of it. Thumbs way up! 10/10.
