She may be a woman, but she is definitely not a talented singer

"Jennifer Love Hewitt: I'm a Woman" is a title that includes the name of the singer as well as the title, basically all the lyrics as there aren't really many in these under 2 minutes. The director is Matthew Rolston, in fact a prolific and experienced music video director, so it is a bit disappointing how forgettable and generic this one turned out eventually. But I guess no director can turn Jennifer Love Hewitt into a great singer. The song fits her well though. She is doing more talking than singing really and the moments when she actually sings it is not challenging at all. I guess this was done not only because she does not have a good singing voice, but they clearly used the female power message here at the center of it all instead of a great vocal performance. Still the latter would have been nice too. But it is just simply not there. I cannot really say too much positive about Hewitt. She was a pretty famous actress already before her 20th anniversary and really stunning back then. No denying. When she made this one here, she was in her mid-30s and now she is 40. This song we got here was used to promote her show The Client List that was greenlit after she scored a Golden Globe nomination for the television movie that has the same name. No idea though why her name is different in the series. But this shall not be a subject now. You see already that it is pretty difficult to say something positive about this music video. It is shallow, generic, maybe a bit on the sexist side even as I am sure if a man had made a music video called "I am a Man" that featured exclusively female dancers rubbing themselves at his legs wearing not more than necessary to cover the crucial parts, then female rights associations would not be amused. And maybe rightfully so. So we should not be amused about this one here either. Luckily, it is so bad that not too many (but still too many in fact) have seen it. I myself was glad anyway that it ran for under 2 minutes because 4 minutes of this garbage would have been really difficult to stomach. Void of all creativity and quality approach to making music really. It's a mess. Highly not recommended and everybody working on it over five years ago should still be ashamed today. Big thumbs-down.
