Excellent thrill ride

This movie is a pretty good sequel, compared to the original.

I though the budget of the movie was probably low, it doesn't really show on screen. There are some spectacular moments with a gun in slow motion, and knife duels, i like this movie for what it is and it does have a few surprises in it.

It was thrilling, action packed, & dramatic all mixed together.

i´ll give it a 9.

Gregory the road killer returns

This is a non-stop film in which the danger towards Ricardo is always near, he battles is own demons, as he travels the road, and then we see the return of Gregory, the final confrontation between them it´s classic, and Ricardo in the end is feeling like he was born again, with a reason to feel like that since for some minutes his life was near to its end, great ending, i truly recommend this film.

Hope to see more in the future, picking up strangers on the road is a risky deal, some seem cool, while others are suspicious, Gregory falls in that category, great casting, absolutely love this guy. the cast did a great job, the soundtrack is top notch.

One of the better suspense movies i´ve seen this year, full of paranoia and fear

Trying to get his life back on track, Ricardo travels trough the forest road, and then starts to hallucinate again that Gregório is back, he kills a biker and then sees it all, he runs until there´s no more chance to run again, and he must face is worst fears.

An incredible sequel, that takes on a hellish nightmare, a cycle of violence with no end in sight.

Constantino Filmes did it again, i´m going to see it again, is that cool.

Beware the road, Gregory is back

I like the concept of this film, and is definitely a classic in the horror suspense genre. Actor Helder Santos, really feels like a maniac, the way he walks, and talks, he won´t stop, even after he killed him in the first movie, evil never dies. It had top notch acting, a great on screen chemistry between killers, and the addiction of the priest, was a good call, it brought more intensity to the story, You don't need to see heads chopped off and what-not for it to be scary, it has more suspense than ever before.

A word of advice : Don't Pick Up Strangers.

A great sequel, of one of the best franchise´s of road thrillers

The story begins, with some scenes from the first movie ( on black and white ), and then, we see the killer, and he´s not dead, still wondering trough the forest looking for victims, this time we see a lot of people, in the forest, so many for him, to take back the roads, but he only has one target, the man, who stood against him, the other killer ( Ricardo ) but this time he´s got the help of a priest, interpreted by a newcomer ( Pinecross ).

It´s a great sequel, the soundtrack is great, full of tension, slow-motion scenes, in the end i jumped out of my seat, never expected that scene with the priest, it was really good, but now, i just want to see more, they leave room for a third chapter, i´ll wait for that, until then i´m waiting for the blu-ray.

A premiere full of energy, and a good story full of scare jumps

Just saw this great sequel, i want to congradulate all people involved in the production of this short movie, it´s actors, producers and director Rui Constantino, that once more deliver the goods, he knows what portuguese people want, i´m tired of all those comedies and dramas.

Now, let´s talk about this movie, camera flows and moves so smoothly and gently that the atmosphere is guaranteed to last throughout the film, a couple of scenes are totally outstanding in their virtuosity such as the scene where Ricardo gets out of the car, completely tormented by the ghost of Gregório, and then he beats his car, saying that he´s the only killer, there are no good persons in the world, there are only persons who can control their bad/evil side, and these two, are battling the forest roads for themselves.

The hitcher is pure evil and no one can change his thoughts and mind, because evil cannot be changed or turned into "good." I think in the future and with the help of the priest, finally he will be absolved of all his sins.

But until then, there´s many roads to travel.

A cult classic franchise, 10 out of 10 masterpiece.

Hitch a ride with this sequel

I just saw this movie, and I liked it very much, I think that if you haven't seen the original, then you will definitely enjoy this, because it has scenes from the first movie in it, it has plenty of intense scenes, a decent amount of "boo scares", quick pace, and decent acting for the most part. Compared to the rest of the movies being released these days, I would say this is definitely above par. All in all, I give this a 8, and I would personally give the original an 9. This one did some things better than the original.

An horror-thriller with an existential soul

I loved the first movie, and tought that the twists were the best thing about it, this sequel, didn´t have that at all, but it had a new character, and some more cgi special effects, the other one were most pratical, but overall this sequel is not a bad movie,, simple to follow , and lot's of scares.

The cinematography is solid, if not terribly innovative. The editing and directing are excellent - as the film maintains a perfect pace and pitch throughout.

Glory to the soundtrack that this franchise has, and must continue, if they are going to make more of these.

The ressurection of evil never felt so good

The beginning of this movie is the best ! when it enters in a tormented footage from the last movie " love that " and then it all changes with a shattered glass, and then he comes again, the road killer " this guy must be related to the family of the texas chainsaw massacre " the way he moves and talks, so creepy, so Ricardo starts to experience nightmarish deja vu as history chillingly repeats itself. But this time, he´s got the help of a priest, that battles this demon hitcher.

It´s 9/10 for solid entertainment.

A sequel to a wild ride to death

So it's no masterpiece. I wasn't expecting one. As a good ol' blood-and-guts horror/thriller, it delivers. The first movie was very special to me, loved the killer twist, and most of all, the characters, in this sequel we get to see the return of the road killer, chasing the other killer, by appearing to him, like a vision or something... The best part about this film is the final confrontation between killers with a drop of faith, by a priest thal also appears out of nowhere, didn´t understand what´s the backstory for this guy, but he´s there to get the job done, just like in the exorcist.

All in all it´s solid stuff, I´m a fan of road movies, i enjoy chase sequences and i rate this film in both those departments. It´s a low budget movie, made in Portugal, a simple movie. simple story. Helder Santos plays the Hitcher, and he really looks like a killer !

The return of forest hitcher

The first time I saw the original movie it just about terrified me....and few films have ever done that to me as an adult. Helder Santos was haunting as the demented killer.

The film moves very fast in this story of a maniac stalking a young killer on the forest road, It's 20 minutes that will fly by with action and suspense.

There are good aerial shots, there is a superb shot in which the camera creeps up to the priest when he appears out of nowhere to stab the killer at low camera angle in the middle of the forest.

The score by Myuu is brilliant, eerie, intense and dark and truly matches the grim and frightening atmosphere of the film. Fantastic score, Myuu.

One good sequel, but i prefer the original though.

Great horrors are a rare kind these past few years, but this franchise first movie it´s one of the best ever, the sequel has some problems, lthough the horror part need some improvement. It's not really scary, more like an adventure/action flick.

The plot is utterly unbelievable but if you can let that go it's enjoyable. If you want to be swept away or completely engulfed into extravagant cinema then this isn't what you're looking for. If you're looking for an okay experience as far as road thrillers go ahead and then you probably won't go wrong with this.

The performance by the evil Gregório is great, and was thoroughly able to creep the hell out of me with great success and achieved it with more subtlety.

A deeply disturbing sequel

This is the strangest film I've probably ever seen in the road horror genre. But interestingly, one of the best.

This movie had me glued to the screen, it gets right into your soul. Helder Santos is one of my favorite actors, and in this movie he stands out and is excellent throughout. No one does unhinged like him, a mysterious figure in a trench coat, thumb out, waiting to hitch a ride again, but this time to catch the one that hurted him Miguel Branco, and a priest Pedro Pinecross, that arrives to help him.

You owe it to yourself to watch this movie.

Survival, Madness, Horror, Suspense, Demonic...this movie is all that

This is definitely a movie I will watch again, and again, and again.

Love this sequel, very well written, with the duo back and a priest, and this guy appears from nowhere, to battle the demons of Ricardo, love the confrontation betweem Gregório and the priest, and knife duel between Ricardo and Gregório, this movie has it all, it´s a masterpiece, i am absolutely sure that this atmosphere could not be described in words. Um dia negro 2 is a fast paced horror-thriller about survival, madness and something we might call love.

Everybody fits into the role perfectly. The editing is great. Soundtrack amazing

This is where the mental torture begins.

A superb sequel that slightly tops the original

First of all i have to say that the hitcher went beyond the borders, I think he stole the show. I hope to see more of him in the future ! The other actors were great, too. Try not to think of this movie as something in real life because some of the things simply won't happen that way in real life. The plot of the story is good except for one hole in it. I'll leave the audience to figure that out. Probably one of the best thrillers I've seen in awhile, its got attitude, and appeal, all in all it was entertaining.

I definitely give this film a 10 out of 10

Great follow-up, was skeptical when I bought this movie since I watched the first one, the special effects in this movie are spectacular especially in the final scene. Remember this one will change what you think about sequels and direct to video movies. Is that great.

Driving on a road to nowhere, until Gregório appears again...

The psychotic hitchhiker begins stalking Miguel Branco again, gone is the loneliness of a single driver and the rising of terror and confusion that he faced in the original, the main difference from the original is the addition of the priest.

Without doubt some of the action and deaths are well executed by director Rui Constantino and his team, there's not much CGI computer effects work in this until the end when it does tend to become noticeable and a bit distracting.

The indestructible hitcher survives repeated attempts on his life that would fell ordinary mortals, but Miguel Branco continues to try.

A road full of blood

Bought this short on dvd, and got surprised for the special skills of this killer, Helder Santos is a top actor, i can´t think of another actor playing this role, this guy fits this role like a glove, it was made for him, hope he can continue for many years doing these sequels, love them.

Endless road, predictable but enjoyable.

The plot is as straight and narrow as they come, we got the two killers back facing each other, and a priest that comes to help kill the hitcher,.

The low budget works in its favour, with tight camera angles making for a claustrophobic viewing experience, all actors do a good job, but not as compelling as I wanted it to be, the first movie is a masterpiece, maybe in the next one will be different.

My only complaint is that there were endless long shots of the car driving down the road; you could almost predict when they were coming up.

Helder Santos gives an excellent performance as a terrifying, volatile killer. Definitely his best role yet. At the end of the film, I thought it was OK but nothing more.

The sequel that takes us to another road of fear

In the sequel they both return, Ricardo is hanted by his past, and his memory takes him to the forest again, to face his enemy one more time, he them meets a priest that will help him deal with this demon.

A great short, with new elements and a new character

Supernatural crazy hitcher !!

This film does many things right. first and foremost, it nails suspense. We are brought from scene to scene with the most tension possible. I would expect more violence, and much more gore. There is much potential for gore, and it is heavily played down. So we get a roller-coaster such as this dark, violent road thriller where surviving seems impossible. The flick has some moments where logic seems to be in question, but the flick is so well made and the suspense and style so ratcheted up, I could forgive momentary lapses of realism. In this sequel the mystery of the hitcher is never revealed, he keeps coming back, even after Ricardo killed him in the first movie, there´s room for another chapter, i hope all is revealed in the next one. I have various questions, but no answers : Why all the cat-and-mouse that ensues ? Why he kills everyone on the forest road ? Why he never leaves the forest ?

This movie is crazy, great stuff from the enigmatic director Rui Constantino
