Has “America’s Got Talent” found its own version of Strauss Serpent? That 2017 winner of “Africa’s Got Talent” was a contortionist who twisted and bent his arms, legs and torso into nightmarish positions. Strauss became such a hit overseas that he was asked to participate in Season 2 of “America’s Got Talent: The Champions,” which aired earlier this year. In NBC’s sneak peek video for Tuesday’s episode of “Agt” Season 15 (watch above), viewers are introduced to Frenchie Babyy, a 25-year-old dancer from the Bay Area who appears to be just as talented as Strauss.
“I started dancing actually when I discovered this amazing dance battle down the street from my school,” Frenchie tells host Terry Crews. “From there, I was hooked. Now I became a dancing machine, just dancing everywhere.” The green-haired performer reveals he’s estranged from his parents because they don’t approve of his talent — they...

“America’s Got Talent” host Terry Crews is sounding off on why he anointed Voices of Our City Choir with his Golden Buzzer during the Season 15 premiere. In NBC’s video interview (watch above), Crews says emotions “just welled up in me” after the homeless choir sang their original song about listening to the sounds of the sidewalk, so he had to press the button. The adult choir now fast-forwards all the way to the “Agt” live shows, which typically film in mid-August at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood.

The audience of “The Masked Singer” may have had their say, but our Derbyites are determined to have their voices heard about what went down on the Season 3 finale. They voted in our poll and a surprising 57% of our readers say the coveted Golden Mask should have gone to pop star Jesse McCartney, who competed as the Turtle. That’s over 20 points more than those who thought Kandi Burruss (Night Angel) was rightfully crowned the winner, which totaled 35% of our respondents. Only 8% believed that the trophy should have gone to Bow Wow (Frog). Do you agree with our readers that McCartney was robbed? Be sure to let us know in the comments below.

“America’s Got Talent” kicked off season 15 on May 26 with a two-hour premiere. Simon Cowell and Howie Mandel are back as judges this season. They are joined by Heidi Klum, who returns to the panel after a one-year break, and newcomer Sofia Vergara. Terry Crews once again brings his trademark enthusiasm to his hosting duties, as well as his love for choirs.

Is “Big Brother” winner Kaycee Clark auditioning to become the next Simon Cowell? Since mid-March, the coronavirus pandemic has upended every aspect of life in the United States, causing stay-at-home mandates in most states in an attempt to contain the spread of Covid-19.
As a consequence, the entertainment industry — a multi-billion-dollar global business — has come to a grinding halt, with every television show and movie indefinitely shut down, putting most of the tens of thousands of people employed by those productions out of work. The shutterings hit the broadcast networks — Fox, NBC, CBS, ABC, and The CW — toward the end of the traditional TV season, so some shows had already completed production before the summer hiatus. Others — such as ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy,” which had shot 21 episodes of its 25-episode order — simply had to adjust accordingly, concluding its season early on April 9.
The bigger concern for the networks is what to do with their fall 2020 schedules, which under normal circumstances would have been unveiled to advertisers,...

The performances are done, the masks have come off, Ken Jeong gave his last wrong guess and when all the smoke had cleared, the Night Angel was named the winner of the third season of “The Masked Singer” and revealed to be Grammy-winning singer-songwriter and reality TV star Kandi Burruss. Burruss brought the season to a close on Wednesday night’s finale with her performance of “River Deep, Mountain High” by Tina Turner.

Multi-platinum singer-songwriter and actor Jesse McCartney was just shy of taking home the Golden Mask trophy on Wednesday’s finale of “The Masked Singer.” As the Turtle, he placed second behind the Night Angel (Kandi Burruss) but edged out the Frog (Bow Wow), who placed third. Panelists Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger both correctly guessed his identity but Robin Thicke thought the Turtle was singer Adam Lambert while Ken Jeong was certain it was newlywed Nick Jonas. Kandi Burruss made history when she became the first woman to win “The Masked Singer” on Wednesday’s finale. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter took down the Turtle (Jesse McCartney) and the Frog (Bow Wow) to win the Season 3 title and the coveted Golden Mask trophy. Panelists Jenny McCarthy and Robin Thicke both correctly guessed her identity, but Ken Jeong incorrectly named actress Tisha Campbell as the Night Angel while Nicole Scherzinger thought it was “Empire” star Taraji P. Henson. Watch the Night Angel’s performance of “River Deep, Mountain High” by Tina Turner above.
“It feels incredible!” exclaimed Burruss when host Nick Cannon asked her how it felt to become the first woman to win. “For a long time I really stopped singing by myself. CBS still has plans to air Big Brother and Love Island this summer.
The network announced its plans for the fall on Tuesday, revealing that it will be bringing back hits such as NCIS, FBI, and many more in the fall.
This was a surprise because Fox and The CW had already announced much of their scripted originals would be pushed to 2021.
“We’re excited to come off another season as America’s Most Watched Network and, despite the obvious challenges around us, put together another winning lineup,” CBS Entertainment chief Kelly Kahl said in a statement of the schedule.
But fans of summer content have been wondering whether this means that Big Brother and Love Island could still be a part of the summer agenda for the Eye network.

Expect the unexpected indeed. While the coronavirus pandemic has shut down Hollywood (and the world) the past few months, CBS is optimistic that production will be able to resume in the summer to not only bring fans new fall programming but one of its staples that is synonymous with summer: “Big Brother.”
In an interview discussing CBS’ fall lineup with “The Hollywood Reporter,” CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl says that the network is hoping to be able to film “Big Brother” and its newest summer reality hit “Love Island” this summer. “The key difference on those shows is the turnaround time is quick,” Kahl stated. “‘Big Brother’ airs live shows every week. ‘Love Island’ is essentially a one-day turnaround. If we can get into production, and we certainly anticipate that, we anticipate having those shows on this summer.”

Big Brother and Love Island were two of the big-ticket reality shows that have been put into a holding pattern as a result of the Covid-19 production shutdown.

CBS is taking a look at how it processes non-scripted series following the departure of Sharon Vuong.
Vuong, who spent three years as head of unscripted at CBS and nine years at the network overall, left the broadcaster last month and joined NBC.
During her time at CBS, she oversaw long-running reality franchises including Survivor, Big Brother, The Amazing Race and Undercover Boss as well as Love Island, the U.S. reboot of the UK hit format.
The non-scripted community has been ruminating as to who would replace Vuong in the role, whether the network would hire an external unscripted boss or hand the top job to Mitch Graham, who has been VP, alternative programming since 2013.
CBS has typically ordered fewer non-scripted series than its rival broadcast networks and in recent years series such as The World’s Best, Million Dollar Mile and Tko have all run for one season.

Our TV Fanatics Whitney Evans and Sarah Little sat down to discuss the similarities and differences between Survivor and Big Brother and make their cases as to which reality television series is superior.

Sarah: There are a lot of things that make Survivor great. But I think one of the main reasons why it is better than Big Brother is that most, if not all, of the contestants are Survivor fans.

Channel 4 is to relive some of Big Brother‘s greatest ever episodes in a 10-part celebration of the reality show’s 20th anniversary in the UK.
The broadcaster’s youth network E4 has commissioned Endemol Shine Group company Initial to make Big Brother: Best Shows Ever Show, in which original host Davina McCall and Rylan Clark-Neal will reflect on their favorite moments from the entertainment juggernaut.

Vineeth too was seen as a suit-wearing, fashionable hero-villain in the film. Velayudhan was also behind the costume design of the iconic film Manichithrathazhu, in which Shobana plays a woman with multiple personality disorder and one of these characters is a Tamil dancer from another era. Too Hot to Handle isn't your typical reality dating show, y'all. First of all, finding love isn't the primary objective. Secondly, the season finale doesn't include any proposals. And finally, the contestants are financially incentivized not to have any sort of sexual contact. If you're not exactly clear on how the show works, you're not alone, because not even the contestants knew how the grand prize of $100,000 would be divvied up until the very end. Here's what they did know: any kissing, "heavy petting," or sex of any kind would result in a deduction from that grand prize.
Similar to Love Is Blind, Too Hot to Handle challenges singles to get to know one another on a deeper level before engaging in any kind of physical intimacy. The show also inspires emotional growth in its participants, who came to the retreat as commitment-fearing "serial swipers" simply looking for meaningless hookups.

Survivor‘s Winners at War will undoubtedly go down as one of the series’ most ambitious and exciting seasons yet. While we certainly aren’t throwing shade at this longed-for all-star extravaganza, there’s one element that’s disrupting this island paradise: tribal council side chats. Lately, the repetitious bevy of whispers has bulldozed the sanctity of tribal, sucking up precious airtime and leaving viewers scratching their heads.
Tribal council whispering is nothing new. In the Caramoan season, chatter erupted after the Three Amigos pulled out a triple immunity play. More recently, in Game Changers‘ infamous dual-tribe vote, a smattering...

CBS Entertainment’s senior vice president of alternative programming Sharon Vuong has exited the network, deciding to leave at the end of her contract on Friday.
Vuong was named to the position in April 2017 after spending six years in CBS’ alternative department, and was well-liked by colleagues and producers. In an internal memo, CBS Entertainment President Kelly Kahl shared the news with staff, calling Vuong an “invaluable member” of the network and a “guardian and shepherd” of its signature shows, such as “Survivor,” “The Amazing Race,” and “Big Brother.” He said Vuong is leaving to spend more time with her family: “While that often sounds like spin, in this case it’s absolutely true.”
In her own email to staff, Vuong called her exit “a very difficult decision,” expressing gratitude for her colleagues and their “dedication, infectious passion and hard work.”

Angus Ross.
Seven’s director of network programming Angus Ross explains how the country’s lockdown is benefiting Seven’s channels and catch-up viewing, the need to rejig the schedule, and flags a raft of upcoming Australian shows.
Q: At-home viewing levels are spiking for the free-to-air networks, Foxtel and the streaming services, resulting in big gains for your primary network, particularly 7News and Sunrise, 7Plus and 7Flix?
A: It is great to see viewers turning to Fta, particularly 7News, Sunrise and The Latest. These programs are Australia’s dominant and most trusted news brands. We are seeing viewing spikes across all of our channels and 7Plus is breaking viewing records on a daily basis.
Q: While this lockdown may last for six months, I assume you are hoping many viewers will have ‘rediscovered’ Fta TV and so you may retain a lot of those viewers?
A: We had banked...

The fall of Les Moonves is stunning for the sheer velocity with which one of the most powerful moguls in the media business got dethroned.
Once regarded as creative executive with few equals, Moonves now leaves a complicated legacy clouded by the allegations of sexual misconduct made this summer by a dozen women. The 68-year-old boss finalized his exit today after weeks of speculation about his fate as chairman and CEO. For CBS — and, really, the entire television industry, which is at the crescendo of Emmy time and on the verge of a new fall season — the question will be how it emerges from one of the longest shadows ever cast by an entertainment executive.
CBS appears eager to publicly distance itself from Moonves, already pulling his bio from the corporate website. It wasn’t that way when Leslie Roy Moonves first came to CBS in 1995 as president of entertainment,...

Kathy Griffin just made Les Moonves’ night (even) worse. The comedian shredded the now-former CBS CEO and his wife Julie Chen in a lengthy Twitter rant on Sunday, which kicked off minutes before Moonves officially exited the publicly traded corporation.
Among her accusations, Griffin says she was interested in replacing Craig Ferguson on CBS’ “The Late Late Show,” but was told by her agents at the time that Moonves “wasn’t going to consider any women for the spot.”
Griffin’s beef with Chen appears to come mostly from stories the former “My Life on the D-List” personality has heard secondhand. She also believes Chen may have helped her husband attempt to bury Janet Jackson’s career following the singer’s infamous wardrobe malfunction on a CBS-broadcast Super Bowl, which has been written about.
Wait until you see the expletive-filled direct message Griffin says she sent Chen the other day.
