Arrow bounced back from a slight slump in last week's episode, with "The Demon" serving as an adrenaline-fuelled chapter for Oliver's (Stephen Amell) Slabside level two ventures. The prison element continues to be a note-perfect aspect of the show. This week especially, with killer stunts with armoured corrections guards and a few creatively executed one-on-one fisticuffs. Oliver's past and future choices, along with his moral compass came to light this time around, being discussed in a very detailed manner, adding depth to his actions. As good as the slammer is at the moment, the other stories are a little off at the moment. Curtis's (Echo Kellum) ARGUS job isn't too great of an arc for his character, even if it does allow for some witty one-liners and tech-wizardry. Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) also had their little tale to tell, as they investigated the very prison Oliver was staying in. That side-plot wasn't has entertaining as it could have been, but allowed for character-growth for all three in smaller ways. Arrow is on the right track, and has been since its opening. Streamlining the plot would help a lot, however the show has so many mysteries and cool action scenes right now, that those can be ignored to some degree. "The Demon" is yet another great chapter added to season seven.
