The film is a carefully crafted presentation of the life of a medic on deployed operations. Using serving personnel who understand the effect that being away from home for long perions of time has on an individual, it raises the issues of maintaining good mental health wellbeing, dealing with trauma and coping with the demands of a busy personal and family life. Difficult messages are not avoided but presented with sensitivity and creativity. It has great potential to be used as an aid to help military personnel reflect on deployments or prepare personnel for future detachments. For those unaware of the rigours of deployment it is a helpful insight into what serving women and men may have to face at some point in their career.
