An unfinished version of the documentary had a special screening at Malaga Film Festival in June 2021, addressed to a local audience and fans of the band, also encouraging new concerts and events for Danza Invisible after a whole year lacking live music because of Covid and lock-down. Film post-production was finished in July-August 2021.
Having started filming in December 2019, Covid-19 lock-down in March 2020 interrupted the production and also the possibility of shooting the band's tour planned to happen that summer, as all Danza Invisible concerts already booked were progressively canceled and tour was almost symbolic. In early 2021 the production re-started and changes included a new director to the film.
The film is finally released in the year Danza Invisible celebrates its 40º anniversary: although they had started in summer 1981, name was chosen and first public performances happened in fall 1981, but only in early 1982 Javier Ojeda was chosen as their singer and finally became frontman of the band. All over 2022 will Danza Invisible continue its tours and a special gala and festival for such an anniversary celebration.
Film project and production started with Regina Álvarez Lorenzo as director as well as co-writer together with José Antonio Hergueta. After the 2020 lock-down had interrupted the production, when shooting was about to be retaken, a disease refrained her from keeping up with the direction of the film, and it was her co-writer and producer who retook the documentary and ended up as director. Later, Regina Álvarez Lorenzo would pass away. Opening titles keep both names under "a documentary by" as co-authors.
