Finally, after a season of hemming and hawing, relationship-wise, things were looking a little clearer.
Almost everyone stepped up in the season finale, All American Season 5 Episode 20, changing how things will look in the upcoming abbreviated All American Season 6.
None of these changes were particularly unexpected, but they set up situations nicely for next season.
Let's start for the worst of the will-they-or-won't-they storylines: Spencer and Olivia.
You know Spencer and Liv belong together when Dillon and his sassy girlfriend made fun of Spencer's assertions that he and Olivia were excellent friends. Grace tried to be supportive, suppressing an appropriate eye roll.
Liv was flying out that night for London, and Spencer was determined to keep things casual, even though his heart told him something different.
Likewise, Olivia was willing to play things however Spencer wanted, even though she longed to get back together.
Spencer did plan a special final day for Liv,...

This All American review contains spoilers.
All American Season 3, Episode 2
We’re back with a new episode and, as the premiere teased us, there is something that went down the summer before senior year with some of these characters. In “How to Survive in South Central,” All American does a good job of unraveling more of the melodrama mystery. But, I guess the slowburn of a certain secret is what makes it even juicier?
Conflict, conflict, conflict. What else do you expect when a team gets a new coach they don’t feel like belongs on their turf, even when he grew up in that said turf? The way Billy (Taye Diggs) handles the cold shoulder of his team members shows how much integrity he has of himself and how he holds it together. It’s reminiscent of Coach Taylor from Friday Night Lights in some way. The similarity of both shows,...

Logan director James Mangold has landed another directing gig. He's currently working on a script for a solo X-23 film, and he's also going to direct a feature film adaptation of the children's book Crenshaw.
Now the director is set to helm an untitled Patty Hearst biopic based on the book by Jeffery Toobin which is called American Heiress. The story is said to trace the "audacious, kaleidoscopic and psychologically twisted story of a true-life Alice in Wonderland.”
It will follow Hearst’s capture and two-year detainment by the Symbionese Liberation Army in the mid 1970’s, as well as her transition from hostage to warrior. The kidnapped heiress captured the world’s attention when she was caught on tape participating in armed bank robberies. Her arrest and trial sparked a media frenzy.

Last week, we excitedly reported that Logan director James Mangold was making a movie based on Katherine Applegate’s Crenshaw, a kids book about an imaginary kitty cat that is giant and also presumably fluffy and nice and a very good friend. It was the best news in a long time, because kitty cats don’t get enough…

James Mangold is picking up projects as fast as he can get them. The director of “Logan” has already put “The Force,” “Disorder,” and “Crenshaw” on his plate, but now he’s cooking up something that has a detail the other films don’t — a star.
Elle Fanning is in talks to lead a picture about Patty Hearst, directed by Mangold.

Logan director James Mangold has jumped on board a new film project and it's not the kind of project that you might expect for him to be a part of. According to THR, he will direct a live-action adaptation of the popular children's book Crenshaw. The project is set up at 20th Century Fox and if you're not familiar with the story, here's a description:
“Jackson and his family have fallen on hard times. There’s no more money for rent. And not much for food, either. His parents, his little sister, and their dog may have to live in their minivan. Again. Crenshaw is a cat. He’s large, he’s outspoken, and he’s imaginary. He has come back into Jackson’s life to help him. But is an imaginary friend enough to save this family from losing everything? Beloved author Katherine Applegate proves in unexpected ways that friends matter,...

Logan director James Mangold is going family friendly for his upcoming movie of Crenshaw...
James Mangold is heading in a very different directorial direction. The Logan director just signed on to direct Fox's live-action adaptation of Katherine Applegate's children's book Crenshaw, a story about a young boy whose imaginary friend-cat named Crenshaw comes back to help when the boy's family falls on hard times. (Maybe Crenshaw has adamantium claws?)
According to THR, Crenshaw will be produced by Kickstart Productions and Frederick Seton has already written the first draft of the screenplay.
While this might seem like a bit of a departure for the director of Logan and The Wolverine, Mangold actually has a pretty eclectic filmography. Other films on his resume include Walk the Line, Kate & Leopold, and Girl, Interrupted. Coincidentally Girl, Interrupted star Angelina Jolie is set to voice-star in The One And Only Ivan,...
