Give free reign to your emotion
srd-306594 September 2020
A simple story of a lonely widower , living in memories of his deceased wife passes his days talking to his grand children in America where his both sons have settled. He too had left his parents to seek a job. Finally, his family wants him to now come over to US to pass his last years. Young Dr. Meghna as his friend from his morning exercises in the park befriends him. Priya Bapat excels in her role of the old man's friend. But it is Prabhavalkar as the old man who steals the credit for a touching portrayal. Kadam in a minor role of the servant plays the part well. A simple film, a simple touching story, a warm direction by Gajendra Ahire and you have a film to watch and like.

Superb film, but........

Everything about the film, except for the last scene, is simply superb.

The last scene could have been shifted to a point after Aravind decides to leave to be with his sons and before his journey to the airport. His welcome to the company of his sons and their families might have been a more deserving closing scene in this otherwise wonderful narrative.

An apparent noticeable discrepancy to Aravind's otherwise loving personality is that while Meghna seems as close to him as a favourite granddaughter, his body language does not show an equal warmth; he could be speaking to just a favourite employee.

Except for these, the story has been wonderfully crafted and presented in a seamless flow.

Story of everyone!

Pimpal is a story of an old man who at the edge of his last days reflects back on his past life! The story leaves great message at every stage and depicts life of every one of us. We see our lives changing but never realize it until the moment we look back and see what unfinished business is left out. Pimpal tells this in a very unusual, different way. Don't miss it. Just watch it and I am sure you would like it!

The movie has a silent message. Those who understand, will definitely give it a thought.

Better to read summary

A 10 min story is made into a full length film. It's not like I am against films which are slow paced but here nothing happens and director relying on just big names. Poor writing, pathetic direction.
