A newly single mom is grieving her husband when, just two weeks after his funeral, she sees him appearing alive and well — on her nanny cam. Was he actually murdered? Or are there darker powers at play? Fool Me Once, created by bestselling author Harlan Coben, was directed by BAFTA Award winner David Moore and adapted to series by writer Danny Brocklehurst. Brocklehurst also worked with Coben on the series Safe, The Stranger, and Stay Close, which were also based on Coben’s novels. Fool Me Once stars Michelle Keegan, Richard Armitage, and BAFTA winners Adeel Akhtar and Joanna Lumley.
“Fool Me Once is a pulse pounder — a shocking story of how secrets and deceit have the power to bring people together while simultaneously tearing them apart,” Coben told Netflix.

Throughout the late 1960s and 1970s, Elvis Presley reigned supreme as the king of the Las Vegas strip. However, his peak of over 600 live shows has been broken by a 1970s music icon, who paid tribute to the king of rock and roll at the record-breaking moment.
Which 1970s music icon broke Elvis Presley’s Las Vegas record?
Elvis Presley played 636 shows in Sin City from 1969 through 1976. He was a staple on the Las Vegas strip, with a residency at the International Hotel.
On Sept. 21, 2023, Barry Manilow took the stage to celebrate a record-setting 637 shows. His achievement was formally recognized during his concert as Manilow was presented with the key to the Las Vegas Strip by Clark County Commissioner Tick Segerblom.
Manilow performed a series of shows the weekend he broke Elvis’ record. They benefitted a number of charities, including the Barbara Sinatra Children’s Center and Victoria’s Voice.

Ezra Furman sings about sex and love on three newly released songs that accompany the newly released fourth and final season of Sex Education. The singer-songwriter dropped “You Like Me,” “Tether,” and “Honeycomb” on Thursday as an EP titled Sex Education — Songs From Season 4.
The songs all play off themes in the show, which is about high schoolers becoming sex therapists for their fellow students. On the gentle, softly rocking “You Like Me,” she sings, “You like me and it freaks me out/Sometimes I don’t know what you’re talking about.

While Paul McCartney and John Lennon both grew up in Liverpool, they had vastly different upbringings. Both lived in working-class environments, but Lennon dealt with several issues and tragedies involving his parents. McCartney said he admired how Lennon dealt with tragedy and how it led to his “vulnerability.”
Paul McCartney said the tragedy in John Lennon’s life gave him an admirable ‘vulnerability’
McCartney recently released a new book titled 1964: Eyes of the Storm. The novel is a collection of photographs Sir Paul took, highlighting moments from The Beatles’ first trip to the U.S. in 1964. The British singer-songwriter discussed his latest book with Conan O’Brien on his podcast Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.
They discussed Lennon and how some photos showcased Lennon’s “vulnerability.” McCartney explained that Lennon had a “tragic” upbringing that led to him expressing himself this way.

Paul McCartney and John Lennon had a lot in common. They were both big fans of early rock ‘n’ roll music who played multiple instruments. And they were deemed songwriting idiots who became prolific songwriters that powered The Beatles. Yet there was one major difference between their mothers’ deaths that Macca perfectly described in one quote.
(l-r) Paul McCartney and John Lennon | Val Wilmer/Redferns Paul McCartney described a difference between his and John Lennon’s mothers’ deaths
Paul’s mother shared a heartbreaking sentiment from her deathbed before she died from breast cancer complications in 1956. He was 14. John’s mother died tragically after being hit by a car roughly two years later. Her son turned 18 a few months later.
The future Beatles were already bandmates at the time of John’s mother’s death. He didn’t hesitate to ask Paul a heart-wrenching question about how to deal with the loss.

While 2022 had been somewhat slow for releases, the month of May truly gave us some big records. Previous Grammy winners like Harry Styles, Bad Bunny, and Kendrick Lamar all released long-awaited albums, while Grammy nominee Jack Harlow also put out his sophomore record. With all these names being big hit-makers on the Grammy’s radar, how will these releases fare come nominations day this fall?
Perhaps the biggest release of the year so far is Styles’s “Harry’s House.” The record debuted with the biggest sales figures of the year so far, moving over 500,000 units in its first week. Styles’s “As It Was” was already a pretty safe contender for Record and Song of the Year, as well as Best Pop Solo Performance, but now the album has solidified its place in the Album of the Year race. What many might wonder, though, is if Styles can go...

Feeling bullish about Sing 2, the animated sequel hitting theaters December 22, NBCUniversal and parent company Comcast are using it for their annual Thanksgiving promotion for Xfinity.
Much longer than the usual 30 seconds of most TV commercials, Comcast’s cinematic spots for its flagship broadband and TV brand have become an annual staple. They first appear during NBC’s broadcast of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and get amplified by other synergistic platforms like Today.
Directed by Garth Jennings, the writer and director of the Sing films, the short that debuted during today’s parade coverage is titled “Come Home.” It introduces a new group of anthropomorphized animal characters who are not seen in the films. (Watch it above.)

Since they were given their heads, the big auteurs of modern TV have been its screenwriters. So “No Return” can be taken various ways. It’s an ITV series from Red Production Company, which has attracted huge heat producing Russell T. Davies’ “It’s a Sin” and “Years and Years.”
It’s sold by Studiocanal, Europe’s biggest film-tv production-distribution powerhouse which owns Red Production Company and is behind the “Paddington” franchise, multiple Liam Neeson hit thrillers and upcoming Western, “Django.”
In production since July, it’s billed as compelling event drama, starring BAFTA award winning actress Sheridan Smith (“Mrs Biggs”).
But it’s also the latest from Danny Brocklehurst, now one of the U.K.’s preeminent screenwriters.
Few have his range or pedigree. After learning his craft from two of the greatest TV voices of working class Britain, Paul Abbott (“Shameless”) and Jimmy McGovern, he wrote half of Harlan Coben...

The R&b field at the Grammys is often one of the most interesting, with a balance of big hits, buzzy newcomers, and established veterans, and usually a couple of surprises when it comes to winners. Let’s review who’s in contention to get noms in the genre at this stage of the race.
Anderson Paak and Bruno Mars will surely be in contention for their work as supergroup Silk Sonic. Their song “Leave The Door Open” has been a smash, peaking at number-one on the Billboard Hot 100 with success on radio and streaming. The song is also very traditional, inspired by retro R&b, which is definitely something the Grammys are into. And Mars and Paak are Grammy favorites, with Mars’s last project, “24K Magic,” sweeping its six noms including three R&b categories. Paak, meanwhile, has four Grammys including two R&b awards for his album “Ventura” and song “Come Home.

The Grammy rap nominations this year were a little controversial, snubbing big hit albums like Roddy Ricch’s “Please Excuse Me For Being Antisocial” and Lil Baby’s “My Turn,” as well as shocking shutouts like Lil Uzi Vert, Run the Jewels, and more. The long-awaited economic measures for the self-employed revealed by U.K. Chancellor of the Exchequer Rishi Sunak on Thursday have elicited mixed response from the film and TV industry’s predominantly freelance workforce.
Self-employed individuals can claim 80% of their average income over the last three years up to £2,500 a month, which is taxable. To be eligible, individuals must earn more than 50% of their income from being self-employed, have trading profits of less than £50,000, and have a self-assessment tax return for 2019.

It seems this largesse in a time of need will also result in higher national insurance contributions in the future.”

The Grammys are often full of surprises, but while many of this year’s results were historic, Gold Derby’s racetrack odds correctly predicted 25 out of 32 categories we bet on, for an accuracy rate of 78%. That’s a big improvement over last year, when we were right about 65% of categories. But despite that strong accuracy rate, there were still seven upsets. Scroll down to see which those were, and check out the complete list of winners here.
One shocker came at the very end of the night when Billie Eilish completed her sweep of the general field categories. We thought she would win most of her six nominations, but we predicted that the recording academy would go with Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus‘s “Old Town Road” for Record of the Year. Nope. Eilish won that too for “Bad Guy.”

‘Psych 2: Lassie Come Home’ To Air In Spring On Peacock As Star Maggie Lawson Hopes For More Sequels
It’s taken longer than expected but the second Psych movie is set to air this spring and star Maggie Lawson is already hoping for more.
Psych 2: Lassie Come Home was originally planned to launch last year but moved from USA Network to forthcoming streaming service Peacock. Lawson told Deadline that it will air this spring after the NBCU platform launches in April.

As the champagne flows at the Ronny Chieng-hosted Intl. Emmys gala ceremony in New York Nov. 25, the picture of television is changing. The globalization of content means streamers are increasingly looking to local production, allowing more people to come to the party.

Paisner, president and CEO of the Intl. Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. “Now we have more entries from countries where we used to have a few — like Brazil — and we’re getting lots of new countries.”
The 2019 noms highlight the shift. Programs and talent from 21 countries are up for awards, the broadest spread ever. Hungary makes its first showing, with a brace of nominations, but both Brazil and U.K. shows are taking center stage,...

We’re only a month or so away from the release of It: Chapter Two, which based on the buzz around the recent trailer and San Diego Comic-Con interviews, is going to be an epic conclusion to the Stephen King adaptation. Now, Warner Bros. have further stoked anticipation today by releasing a new featurette, titled “Come Home,” that combines fresh footage with behind-the-scenes commentary.
Opening with one of It‘s final sequences, whereby the young Losers’ Club make a pact to come back to Derry if Pennywise ever returns, the promo then shows some behind-the-scenes clips of the characters riding through the town. We also get some typically effusive praise from Stephen King himself about how much audiences wanted to see more of the story, before director Andy Muschietti gives a quick rundown of why the Losers are reunited 27 years later.

Pip Blom is a 22-year-old Amsterdammer with a perfect post-punk name and a Cobain-ish gift for saying a lot with a little. On “Come Home,” the new single by her band (which is also called Pip Blom, duh), she taunts some tragic sap who’s under the impression they get her: “Say my name if you think it’s over.” Her guitar gets stuck on a short, glowering riff, detuned and off-balance, like “Come As You Are” minus the sentimentality, as the song’s intensity keeps building. The bass and the drums grumble right along.

Exclusive: Leading UK TV producer Nicola Shindler, founder of Red Production Company, is to become CEO of Studiocanal UK following the departure of long-time UK boss Danny Perkins.
Shindler will join from October 1 and will report to Studiocanal CEO Didier Lupfer. Maxime Saada, CEO of the Canal Plus Group and Studiocanal Chairman, just announced the hire to staff in London.
This is a semi appointment-from-within given that Vivendi-owned Studiocanal has owned a majority stake in Red since 2013. The highly-decorated Shindler will continue to oversee Red, where she has produced BAFTA-winning TV dramas including Happy Valley and Last Tango In Halifax. Her most recent feature was 2012 crime-drama Blood with Paul Bettany and Mark Strong.
In her new position at Studiocanal, Shindler will be tasked with setting up and running a new in-house film production arm developing British features. Studiocanal has a similar operation in France and is initiating the same in Germany.

Some things change. Some stay the same. Case in point, France’s Series Mania. 2018 sees a change of venue – Paris to Lille – a broadening audience mission, the addition of a Writers Campus and Lille Transatlantic Dialogues.
Meanwhile, “La Casa de Papel” points to a potential tipping point in the international market status of foreign-language fiction, from niche to specialty product at best to mainstream social phenomenon.
Some stay the same: Such as the selectivity of Series Mania section and the enthusiasm of its founder Laurence Herszberg for talking about drama series trends.
On the eve of Series Mania, Herszberg drills down on change and continuity at the 9th Series Mania Festival.
For Series Mania, this looks like the year of greatest change in its nine edition existence….
It’s a total change, another festival. We kept the name, the brand because, not totally modestly, it is renowned for the quality of the event.
