Viewers, or reviewers still don't quite see the truth.

Warning: Spoilers
The reviews I have read of Chicago Fire S6E22, on IMDB and a few other fan pages I won't advertise, seem to exclusively focus on the relationship between Matt and Gabby Dawson approaching criticality. But Dawson also suffers with her relationship with Sylvie Brett. Why is Dawson having all these problems? Why does it appear that the world is crashing down on all her personal relationships? Simple, Gabby Dawson is a selfish, egocentric, and narcissistic.

Casey's free!

Warning: Spoilers
I agree with the other commenters about Gabby. Good riddance, I say. Of course the demise of her was of a sudden in the last 3 episodes, but the actress wanted out and this is how they did it. But Casey's complaint -- and truth -- about her leaving him out of decisions for her own selfish needs, feelings and desires was founded in the earlier episodes. No, he didn't ever love her for being independent of him so that is wrong. Clearly, she never really loved him -- her character is not capable of true love. Love is a verb -- means to Do For, to sacrifice for, put others before oneself. Casey truly loves, but not Gabby. I never liked the pairing so I'm glad that character is gone. As for Grizz, truth will out. And happy for Sev and Stell -- that was a cool moment for those two.

Well then.

Warning: Spoilers
I didn't agree with a lot of reviewers about Dawson for quite some time, about her egotism etc, but she's.really become a very unlikeable character of late. Everything is about her, all the time. I assume this is the writers' way of softening the blow of Monica Raymund leaving the show.

I loved Brett for telling her off, that character has really grown on me. Poor Cruz never gets a break. At least Joe Minoso found love IRL!

Gabby: The actions and mentality of a crack head.
wittmann_todd11 May 2018
I am a faithful follower of Chicago Fire...I even binge watch previous seasons over and over again. I have given several User Reviews positively endorsing this series. My least favorite character is Gabby Dawson. Picture someone addicted to crack doing everything possible to get that next hit to the detriment of relationships, character and integrity. Totally self centered with a constant soap opera drama of every single thing in life; the consummate victim; "If only the world understood me." The "do-what-I-want-when-I-want" mentality. Matt can do soooo much better than this and I feel for him dearly. And I have commented on this since season 1. This last episode is the epitome of Gabby's self-centered life and it irritates the hell out of me. Otherwise, I thoroughly enjoy Chicago Fire and I will continue to be a die-hard fan. I started watching Station 19 and two things stand out which I wish Chicago Fire would adopt: 1. Quiet down the sirens on the run; 2. Show a little more procedural accuracy on the calls. Both of these Station 19 does well.

Great Episode ...

Warning: Spoilers
... because this was for all intents and purposes the end of the Gabby Dawson character. She was just awful. Narcissistic, self-centered, often irrational, a constant need for drama, and unable to stand prosperity, a total train wreck of a person. Just obnoxious to watch the way she treated those closest to her throughout the series but especially at the end, from Casey to Brett to Mills to Shay. Good riddance indeed.

Casey and Dawson; What are you doing...
linda-jarvinen11 May 2018
Matt And Gabby.... you should be in love. don´t you remember!? I love all scenes with them, more of that. But Gabby should be more in love, Matt adores you.
  • Happy for Kelly and Stella as well, hope they can stay together a long time.

Paramedic without fire engine?
bdrake-539883 October 2023
In the State of Illinois, every paramedic is accompanied by a fire engine by law. For safety reasons, for one reason. I've talked to firefighters about this, even when my neighbor across the street had a paramedic called. The engine sat there with one fire fighter in engine, I talked with him.

Why dont the Chicago Fire writers realize this detail and fact?

As far as Gabby is concerned, I agree with all contributors. She is a narcissist b-ch with no charm. I'm glad she is gone. How did Casey ever love her? I loved Casey, he was my favorite character. He's flawed to have loved her and not realize she didn't love him back. Or was it just great sex?
