Uber loses his rifle....A man really is No one
limbikanidambuleni3 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
For a guy who almost got on to the navy seals he really is damn stupid not to keep his weapon close by and secured ..a kid steals it?

Well at least we get to see the man that is no one really change faces in this episode looks like his GOT talents have transferred.

Sloppy writing
Maddy-the-Weinerdog12 November 2022
Warning: Spoilers
They paid Uber $40,000 because he's so good? Uber had one job. Drive a boat. He left the boat, and then a child steals his gear, including his gun. Really?

Jack runs out towards a sniper? Jack then chases the sniper, instead of shooting him while he is only a few feet away. Really?

I'm slowly dropping my ratings as the episodes continue. I'm enjoying the show, but the ridiculous writing is making it hard. I'm not sure why nobody in the production has noticed glaring stupid events. A couple edits and slight changes would make this show a 10/10 every episode. I can't blame the actors. They are great. The writers and directors are taking shortcuts for no reason. Don't assume the audience is stupid and won't notice.

Going it Alone
lavatch12 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, Dr. Jack is forced to go it alone as he travels from Caracas to London to investigate the Epirus company that served as the middleman in the mining equipment secretly placed in the Puerto Manipena jungle of Venezuela. Volger operations then took control of the project, as well as the shell company of Cinco Palmas.

Dr. Jack and Harriet "Harry" Baumann meet Rupert Thorne, the CEO of Epirius. But hot on their tracks is the nefarious Max Schenker, who is now readily identifiable by his one missing eye that was cut out by Dr. Jack in the bathtub brawl in the hotel.

Max takes out Thorne with a bullseye shot to the head, then escapes the pursuit of Dr. Jack after a spectacular chase scene on top of the buildings of London. Max escapes with a daring plunge into the Thames.

In Caracas, Gloria meets with Jim, who believes that her husband Sergio's disappearance is tied directly to the jungle mining project. President Reyes vainly attempts to buy off Gloria by offering her the postion of her missing husband, Minister of the Interior and Justice. Gloria declines the offer, but is subsequently sent the ominous token of a bullet.

President Reyes now orders the execution of the American soldiers loose in the jungle and searching for Marcus "Uber" Bishop. The advanced satellite technology is used to track the men who appear to be doomed.

What is wrong with you people???

Warning: Spoilers
This chapter was amazing. Great actions scenes, great dialogue and awesome character development. Max is not just some spy wannabe, he is in another league. And even Ryan can´t catch him.

Btw, Ryan is not just some "analyst". He is an ex-marine and is trained. He is not Rambo but he is near to James Bond set of skills. So his "parkour" skills are quite obvious.

It´s been a while since i saw such a great roof chase scene. It reminded me of the one in Mission Impossible, and that CANT be a bad thing.

So if you are reading this, and advice. Watch this series as it is. A spy one where the villains can be cartoonish (be evil just for being evil) or real (do evil things because the world force them to be evil).

And again, the performances from each actor/actress are top notch. So congrats. It was a pleasure to see it.

Thrilling and engaging.
cruise0119 November 2019
4 out of 5 stars.

The episode continues to be strong following the political world with Venezuela. While Jack is on a lead with the assassin in London. Leading to a thrilling rooftop chase. There are some predictable surprises. The episode stays strong with a direction and sharp script.

Liked most of the series so far.

While mostly enjoying this I would like to point out there is no way in hell a one eyed man could do that rooftop run. Depth perception takes binocular vision, it just does.

Dressed to Kill

Warning: Spoilers
Changing Jack's locale did improve things a little bit, but once again the show has no idea of what to do with the second season and would benefit from going back to basics and less complication moving forward.

Bourne influence
Leofwine_draca19 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The writing isn't great here, but the episode is more entertaining than the previous. The change of setting to London is a good one and the BOURNE influence is felt in a climactic rooftop chase which is handled really nicely.

Just shoot the guy!
juliematthews1-127 March 2021
There was ample opportunity to shoot Max instead of doing that ridiculous rooftop chase.

Uber has made it very clear why he didn't succeed at becoming a Navy SEAL. Can't follow orders, runs off into the jungle, can't secure his person/weapon & gets outsmarted & outrun by a child. WTF?!

So frustrating!

Silly but entertaining
dierregi27 July 2023
You just need to think about the fact that they went out of their way to hire Uber. The guy has superpowers or what? Not only he was supposed to be the only driver of a boat that apparently anybody can drive when he's not available, but he gets his rifle stolen by a child! Literally, a child game... that's kind of funny to me, although I don't think the script was aiming at funny.

Also the fact that super assassin Max travels in "disguise" was kind of funny, not to mention the rooftop chase scene. I am sure nobody would believe that it's actually possible to conduct such a chase, but that's why it's called "fiction".

Worst part is the Venezuelan soap opera, I mean the plot with the brave female and the nasty men.

To early to jump the shark
jllagunos27 December 2019
First season was great. Nice characters, well balanced, portrayed and a sense of teams from both sides. That was lost in second season very quickly, but this episode is the one where they completely lost it. Suddenly Venezuela's government can outsmart all superpowers, achieve technology far superior to the US Military, and Jack has become a sort of Holmes Bond, who is the only one capable of understanding threats, pursuing enemies, even when been literally surrounded by allies. This is just lazy writing...

Rooftop run just for fun

Just shoot the dude. Running on the roof tips makes for good cinema but is bad for ops. Ridiculous.

Hmmm it's ok but...not great
david-rowe-683-14693429 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
So Max - who only an episode ago was stabbed in the eye, and stabbed in his thigh TWICE - is able to outrun and escape from an un-injured man across a London rooftop. He wasn't even limping as he scampered across those roofs!

Also Uber...a man that was hounded to join the team...for what? He has no special skills of note? Other people can drive the boat as is shown so why the big push to get him involved? Why did he leave the boat anyway? Ok...he saw some movement along the ridgeline but that didn't mean he had to abscond the way he did. And then got his gun snatched by a child. Oh dear. He definitely should have stayed at home.

I like the Jack Ryan series (so far) but some of the characters and writing is a bit questionable at times.

Whatchoo Gonna Do When Max Comes For You???
wandernn1-81-68327429 July 2020
So in this episode Greer makes contact with Bonalde.

Max gets around with fake ID and reveals that he's also.

At least there are some soldiers on the ground and Ryan and Greer aren't with them.

Ryan finds Max and a great rooftop chase ensues. Ryan the analyst is obviously a parkour expert as well as being a super field agent.

-1 Star for the super unnecessary chase

Glad Max got away really.

These episodes are really not impressive to me.

Disgusting
IAM4UK15 December 2019
The writers felt the need to remind the audience how wicked one of the bad-guys is. They added an otherwise pointless sequence to drive that point home. That's lazy and poor-quality storytelling.

Weakest episode yet!
pfry-904985 July 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Weakest episode yet! Really, he wakes because of bugs trillIng, then he notices his rifle and other gear is missing. Then a guy with one eye jumps from one rooftop to another and makes it. There is other unnecessary silliness in between these two gaffes but why bother listing them. Let's hope for a better script moving forward. Every episode before this was solid, no BS or corner cutting butt this episode is indicating laziness and personal agenda has crept into the plots.

My guess is we're invested and now they can take liberties with the material and feed us whatever junk they want. If there is more of what's in this episode, I'll recommend friends and family watch something other than this series.
