Closing sequences were perfect
muamba_eats_toast10 April 2020
I don't normally review individual episodes but in this case I felt compelled up until this point I had enjoyed the series but had it in the category of good-very good rather than exceptional the closing sequences of this episode especially excelled though the end of the shoot out was phenomenal and the brief fall out with a perfect filling in or back story to two main characters in between. Hopefully the series will continue to kick on from here and find that extra gear although even without it the series has still been good at the very least. Interested to see what's next.

Oh my days! That ending!!!!!
Sleepin_Dragon16 August 2020
Part four is truly a wow episode, we are not given a huge amount of story development, but we are given the back story of two of the main players, Yuto and Sarah, we know that he's on the run, we know that she's on the outside, this episode will tell you why.

Rightly so the reviews generally focus on the ending of this episode, and for good reason, however there is so much content here. Yuto is given an incredible back story, we see him living in secret bliss, and of of course the inevitable disaster that would come. We also learn what Sarah did to be in the position she finds herself in now, was she right to do what she did? Janie Draven really does play the rat.

The ending...... Has there ever been a TV drama with such a cinematic feel, I don't think so, over the years I have praised many shows, Line of Duty in particular for how they look and feel, I think this goes beyond that, it is breathtaking.

The music is sensational throughout, you will want to download the tracks played.

Charlie Creed Miles is playing the gangster villain Abbott to perfection.

Episode 4
Prismark1028 November 2019
This could had been directed by Quentin Tarantino............ in his prime.

I actually thought that the shootout hinted at the end of episode 3 would be a bait and switch.

The shootout in both London and Tokyo actually tops and tails the episode. Instead we find out more about Yuto, how he got in with the Yakuza through Fukuhara who saw the killer in him and what led to his falling out. We also find out that despite their differences, Kenzo always ends up sorting his brother's mess out.

The episode is split in chapters and the bulk of it is in Japanese. DC Sarah Weitzmann contemplates whether events are connected in some cosmic way.

Weitzmann's past is also probed, at one point she is told; this is as good as it gets with her undercover cop boyfriend. However she ended up undermining him and it was this that led her to being ostracised by her fellow officers.

A thrilling powerful episode, some of it not suitable for the squeamish.

one of the best tv scripts ever

Early on Kelly Mcdonald gives one of the best soliloquies in the history of the medium. That writing alone could have won an award. Just when you think it can't possibly get better, the episode ends with one of the best shootouts ever, all set to voice over in counterpoint to the action (again, Mcdonald's) matching the original soliloquy. Oh Wow.

Warning: Spoilers
How is Yuto the "deadliest assassin in Tokyo" when he was getting his ass handed to him and being rag dolled by some chump in this episode?
