Dr. Sturgis brought George a box of kolaches when trying to recruit the twins for the research project. Kolaches are a kind of sweet roll pastry sold in many donut shops in South Texas, and were invented in Czechoslovakia. This is the reference in part of the title of this episode, "Czechoslovakian wedding pastries".
Dr. Sturgis' parables about Albert Einstein, and the similarities between him and Sheldon suggest the theory that Einstein was autistic.
Oddly, Texas is about the only place where 'kolache' also denotes a sausage-in-a-bun, sort of a cousin to English pig in a blanket and West Virginian pepperoni roll.
