Good start

Warning: Spoilers
Sometimes it's good not to read reviews and see for yourself. The reviews weren't terrible but in the past I have been swayed from watching a series. I'm glad I went ahead and watched this one. I found the first episode rather engaging and interesting.

It is easy to see how quickly things can spiral out of control based on one mistake. We are all human, imperfect and we make mistakes whether we want to judge or not.

I feel for Rizo (I think that's her name). She loves a man who is a poor provider. Thus he is a liar. It's hard to feel bad for a liar but at the same time he has an addiction. I could see why she would accept the offer. Very difficult place to be.

The lady that cheated in the bathroom, not sure what to say about her. I understand the attraction but sometimes you have to be smart about things.

The lady with the missing daughter, not quite sure what to think about her yet either. It seems like she is trying to be perfect and guilt trips others when he life is clearly not as it seems.

Looking forward to watching the rest of the series!!

It's a bit muddled so far.

I can see potential in this series, Part one definitely had some highlights, the beginning, and ending for example, but overall, I thought this was a bid muddled. We seemingly get the stories of three troubled women, all suffering because of useless, stereotypical men, all close to doing something that will change their lives.

I can see why this hasn't gone down incredibly well, it's very messy, I'm not sure if these stories will remain independent, or will get intertwined somehow, but I will stick with it as I see potential. There was a lot of padding here, but I am intrigued by Roz, great to aeesee Sinead Keenan in a drama.

A mixed bag, with better to come I'm sure. 5/10

Episode 1

When I told my wife that Deep Water is being compared to Big Little Lies, she laughed.

Well it features married women with kids who have secrets and Deep Water has some lush scenery of the Lake District instead of a California beach town.

Kate (Rosalind Eleazar) Roz (Sinead Keenan) and Lisa (Anna Friel) are three friends living in Windermere. Kate is well to do with a sister who is more smug and affluent, Roz is financially struggling with a partner who is a gambling addict.

Roz gets an indecent proposal from a wealthy client for no strings sex which might help her out from her financial predicament. Lisa who has an hectic time balancing running a business with a family life still finds time squeezing some sex with Kate's brother in law.

It is all frothy and soapy with a sting involving a missing teenager by the end of the first episode.

However there is something clunky, cliched and cold about it. This six parter is being stretched and I found the first episode took an age to get going.
