Some of the actors, who are actually fluent in English, had to roughen up their accents in order to portray their characters. Even misspelling certain words and playing with syntax.
The film was shot in 16 days, with a small crew, and a micro budget.
Alejandro Olmo, the artist behind the inquisitor's masks, originally made five designs as each of the five inquisitors was supposed to wear a different one. But, due to budget constraints, they would only be able to 3D print two masks, so director Arturo Lizardi decided to go with one mask design for all inquisitors.
The film is the first part of what is designed as a trilogy.
