It's a shame that you all slept on this

Warning: Spoilers
I'm a member of the cartoon community on Twitter. A lot of the people in that community complain about how Nickelodeon is lacking original animated properties, and yet, like hypocrites, they ignored this four-part miniseries in order to continue worshipping Steven Universe, SpongeBob, My Little Pony, Gravity Falls, Gumball, BoJack Horseman, Hilda, Final Space, and Amphibia (don't get me wrong, all those shows are good, but other shows always get ignored in favor of at least one of these). It's a shame, because they missed out on one of the best Nickelodeon works of 2019.

This was a four-part miniseries that aired new episodes every Sunday from September 8 to September 29, in order to prepare kids for the new school year. It's about child prodigies going to a special school for 'moguls'. This was a perfectly timed and well thought out program. The messages that it sends are brilliant and can resonate with kids, teens, and adults. For example: Body Positivity, Optimism, Friendship, Non-Binary Gender Identities, LGBTQ+ Equality and Environmentalism.

The cast is also pretty diverse, especially in personalities. Val Oliveras is a Latina girl who loves sports, and is raised by a single father. Yuna Pak is a plus-size Asian girl who is a fashion model with lesbian moms. Winnie Pierre is a Haitian girl who loves cooking. And Celeste Sigurdson (my personal favorite) is a spacey girl who loves technology, is raised by her grandfather, and is environmentally conscious. There's also a spoilt kid called Winston (who is the most annoying character in the series), a kid with a prosthetic leg called Finn, a guy named Ethan who is the resident advisor (voiced by YouTuber Alex Wassabi), a school reporter named Josie (voiced by another YouTuber and Nickelodeon favorite, JoJo Siwa), a non-binary teacher named Wren (voiced by Tim Gunn from Project Runway), and the headmistress is voiced by Jane Lynch (AKA Sue Sylvester from Glee). The voice cast was well thought out and even included some Nickelodeon sitcom stars. The characters are very lovable and relatable.

I must say that the premise is creative. I wish that the Mogul Academy was real. It was also inspired by a lemonade stand which went global and became a major business. How impressive is that? Anyways, I wish the cartoon community would stop sleeping on underrated shows like this, Rise of the TMNT, and Lego City Adventures. I hope this becomes a full series someday and not just a miniseries.
