My sleeping cats are more exciting
lisamazzone4 March 2020
When in episode 1 I already pause the series every few minutes to grab my cell phone, get a drink or play with the cats, I already know that it will not be a great success.

Hmm, I don't know. Had a different expectation: tension, darkness, drugs, hooligans ... But it's actually a bit boring. Little happens.

It annoys me that a young woman thinks she can handle the entire system on her own and also manages to do everything. Totally not credible.

But the most annoying thing is the music / tunes in between the scenes. A guitar chord that reminds me of Married with Children, The Nanny and those kind of programs. Of those silly tunes at all times without any purpose.

In short: a very moderate series.

Good story, terrible acting
glutz-0741027 February 2020
The main character, Lomito, is a terrible actor. What a waste. Where are the good old actors from Argentina?

Terrible
bfontoura9 March 2020
I'm a huge fan of argentinian cinema, but what a disappointment this series is.

Terrible acting, terrible story, full of clichés and plot holes.

The director, Israel Adrian Caetano, is a very good one, as he already proved in "Oso Rojo" - one of my favorite action films - and "Pizza, birra, faso", an argentinian classic. The problems here are with the script and acting.

It's a shame that such a rich and full of possibilities theme as the argentinian football and its barra bravas was so wasted like this.

It could have been better

The plot could have been better, and with more action, it is not bad, however in my case I lost the focus therefore I could not pass the 1st chapter

Simply terrible!

I'm not sure what kind of audience Netflix had in mind for this series but it is just a confusing and chaotic story that made no sense. Twenty minutes of the first episode will tell you not to waste your time on it.

A Great Watch
clewispurvis13 January 2022
A refreshing change to the typical South American series. Don't expect an Argentinian version of 'Green Street,' as you will be disappointed. The focus of this series is the culture , corruption, politics and criminality surrounding a fictitious football club in the suburbs and the lives of the people who run it. Although it is a slow burner at times, there is enough drama to keep the viewer entertained. I was hooked , a great watch!!

Brave Castellano innovation by NETFLIX. Looking forward to Sequel.

Get rid of them subtitles. Listen in Spanish. Dialogue's good 'n' punchy, and If you like football and intrigue this one's definitely for you. Lots more violence than normal for Latin Teleseries, so not for Mum. Storyline's not terribly great, but this one's not badly paced over just 8 episodes, with a large body-count - and producers that REALLY say it like it is!! Don Hector, the soccer hooligan-cum-mafia boss, played by Carlos Bellosi has such screen presence that the hapless Dolores Fonzi , cast as Security-Chief Diana is plain usurped. Hector's a bit like the male counterpart of Cersei Lannister in Game of Thrones. Difficult to take eyes off, but for ALL the wrong reasons. You'll love and loathe him. Lo recomendo.

Great Spanish Language Show to learn with
pwil-8416126 July 2020
Often a challenge of trying to familiarise yourself with Spanish through Netflix is the dearth of watchable shows available, particularly for Argentina. Thankfully Puerta 7 is gripping in its own right thanks to the casting and compelling subject matter. The nature of football hooliganism and its political impact in Argentine culture is explored through entertaining and earnest characters, being a drama it is of course at times embellished but the themes it explores are largely relevant and present in Argentina. Thankfully the writing allows plenty of room for a strong storyline in any potential further seasons, I'd love to see an original Argentine drama given a chance on Netflix after Edha flopped.

To run a Soccer club - a background
indepthtraining23 March 2020
Unique story line. Spot on. Rarely do the fans get a chance to see the challenges of running a soccer club. Rarely do owners get to see that they are not alone in these challenges. Puerta 7 is not a repeat of the same old story. And while it is fiction, it is not far from the truth. Lomito's character runs parallel to one already experienced. Others are just as close. And the situation is more usual than the general fans would know.

Hopefully the series will continue and the realities will be exposed. The acting is not perfect because the real-life characters are not perfect. Bravo. Let's pray there will be more. A contested election and what happens will be very spicy. Add in the interests of the federation and the national sports board for realism, and take it up that notch.

Go for it! Forza Puer7a

For Football fans
schzoom-267-46123625 October 2020
It is great fun to spend some time watching an intriguing war between to the leaders of an Argentinian football club and those of the club's primary faction of hooligans. Each side tops the other until? You'll have to watch to find out.

Brilliant
tiaracolusso24 July 2020
Excellent portrayal of the passion, politics and corruption that happens in football clubs in Argentina. The acting is also 10/10. One criticism I do have is the Netflix English translation doesn't accurately convey some of the Argentinian sayings that really make the show, for example; "me rompe los huevos" translated to "it bothers me"...
