- Child Support is the story of Ryan Monroe (40). A former college basketball star and 20 year sports journalist who is celebrating being promoted to lead anchor of ESPN's most popular Sports talk show "Let's Talk About It". However, his celebration is thwarted by the news that a woman from his past is seeking Child Support from him for her son. Ryan is completely baffled at her efforts to have him pay child support as he has never had sex with this woman. Needing to clear up this matter Ryan gives a DNA sample to prove he is not the father. However, to his dismay the DNA test results conclude that he is the father. He contacts his cousin Trina who is a lawyer, to have the test results authenticated by a friend of hers in the FBI. The results again conclude he is the father. He has no idea how he could Father a child from a women he never had sex with. His cousin asks if he and the woman had any type of sexual relations. He admits to them only having oral sex. His 75 year old grandfather "Pops" who still talks and acts like the 70s pimp immediately is able to deduce that the oral sex led to "turkey basting" by the mother of the child for the purpose of getting his money. As Ryan ponders on this information his family ultimately realizes that "Pops" is right and Ryan must unfortunately pay child support. However Ryan remains defiant and notes that he refuses to pay child support and asks his cousin if it is legal for the courts to force him to pay child support to a woman he never had sex with and turkey basted him. She notes that the state of California will uphold her petition for him to pay child support. His younger cousin who is educated but of the elk of "Migos" tells him that if he has to pay child support than he may as well get joint custody. "Ain't no sense in paying for a kid you can't see" his cousin tells him. His fiance', a beautiful and sexy real estate agent, who is also in her 40s and childless agrees with the idea of him having joint custody as she sees this as an opportunity for her to have the child she could never have on her own. Ryan, who never wanted children and isn't good with children balks at all of his families suggestions but realizes he doesn't have a choice. Now, at the age of 40 Ryan, who never wanted to have children, is an instant Dad with no clue on how to raise a kid, nor desiring the kid to be around his extremely eccentric family.
